Technically, no. He beat him fairly and would probably repeat the performance with the same outcome unless Taylor corrects some flaws.

Carl is among the top SMWs, largely due to his chin and his grit, but he has flaws and can be beaten, IMO. But still, his victory over Taylor was legit. **** like this happens in boxing all the time... styles make fights... and so do circumstances. In this case, Taylor couldn't do 12 rounds and it lost him a belt.

        Exactly...

Taylor did what he does, and Froch did what he does... and on that night, Froch was better at what Froch does than Taylor was at what Taylor does.

The only people really surprised by the outcome are those that had some kind of bias against Carl in the first place, causing them to drastically underrate him. So many people thought this fight was going to be a blowout in one way or the other, and as I predicted, they were all wrong.

I think "Fluke" is a terrible word.

I'll just say that if they fought 10 times, Jermain would win 7 of them.

The only people who expected this fight to be a blowout were the types of "fans" on here who only recognized Taylor's name, and knew nothing of Froch's potential.

Sadly, that's about a good 50% of the forum, right there.

This one was so close for me that I never even made a single prediction. The definition of a 50/50 fight.

It wasn't a 1 punch KP either. Man was getting hammered from the 8th round on.
