    Call me Crazy...

...but I believe that Juan Manuel Marquez has a better chance of beating Floyd Mayweather Jr. than Manny Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao is a rhythm fighter. Marquez upset his rhythm for extended periods and controlled him. The fact that Pacquiao is bigger than Marquez was what helped him walk through fire to beat Marquez.

But Pacquiao is not bigger than Floyd. So, when Floyd disrupts his rhythm he doesn't have a whole lot else to fall back on except his warrior's spirit and a hope that Floyd wears out. Marquez, on the other hand, is one of the few fighters who can match skills with Floyd in the center of the ring. I'd even go so far as to say that if Marquez wins the jabbing contest Floyd will be the one trying to find a way to come from behind in the second half of the fight.

Again, I know that a lot of you are gassed on Manny Pacquiao, but he can't match skills with Floyd the way Marquez can. Mayweather-Pacquiao could end up being a one-sided blowout for Mayweather. I think Mayweather-Marquez has a much better chance of being competitive and it wouldn't even surprise me if its really close.

i also think marquez has a better chance at beatin floyd than manny, i don't think any of them would beat floyd but marquez would have a good outing in a losin effort and manny i think would lose badly and would probbly be cryin come the end of the fight

I think you guys are wrong on this. I have always said that there are only 2 ways to beat Floyd. 1 is to be so much bigger than him to the point that all he can do is run & Pot shot. The only other way to beat him is to be a Southpaw and catch him. I think JMM is a better fighter then Pac but I honestly 100% beleive that in his "prime" a righty cant hit Floyd clean. I truly think he has mastered his D to the point where you wont land 10 clean punches on him a whole fight and Im being generous with that number. Now I will give JMM a chance because if there was maybe one righty in history that could hit Floyd clean it would be JMM because he throws all his punches straight down the pipe and is so precised with it but I still cant see it. He's not going to hit Floyd clean. Thats why I bet anyone that during the fight or after the fight you will hear the Commentators and alot of others say that even if you think Floyd was the bigger man, it still wouldnt have mattered because JMM cant even land a single clean punch on Floyd. Size had nothing to do with it. Thats what I think people will say after that fight.

Now Pac on the other hand is younger, he's faster then JMM, he has the size to give Floyd trouble, he has more power then JMM, and he has the Southpaw style. All that would give him a better chance to me. Zab caught Floyd some early until Floyd figured him out and he's only been hurt once and that was by the Southpaw Corley. I could see Pac catching Floyd, e****ally early in the fight until Floyd figures him out

Like I said, I realize that a lot of you are gassed on Pacquiao. I get that. Just know this...not all of us are. There are holes in Pacquiao's attack. For one, he still bounces back and forth. He also comes forward with only marginal regard for what's coming back. We've also never seen what happens to him when he doesn't simultaneously have a hand speed and size advantage. He won't have both against Mayweather. He may have neither.

I also think you guys are exaggerating the southpaw angle. Mayweather has had very little trouble with southpaws. He lost a couple of rounds to Judah, but then dominated the last 7 or 8 rounds of the fight. He got stung by one punch against Corley in his first fight at 140 and dominated the rest of the fight. He beat Sharmba easily.

Floyds not like Oscar. He doesn't look lost and robotic against southpaws. He doesn't go minutes on end without landing punches against southpaws. He's pretty comfortable in the ring against them and lands punches. If you're banking on the southpaw stance to work wonders for Manny against Floyd I think you're going to be sadly disappointed when the opposite stances doesn't magically make Manny impossible for Floyd to hit and defend against.

I don't think that Marquez will beat Floyd. I think the fight will be somewhat competitive though. I think that Floyd will wax Pacquiao though. I don't think that fight will be competitive at all.
