As a Brit, I’ve changed my opinion on Jermain Taylor

You know, after this fight I found I had a great deal of respect for Jermain Taylor. His grace and articulation in defeat were admirable, I was very impressed by that. He must have been truly gutted to have lost when the fight was in the bag, but his manors and good grace in the post fight interview, I thought, were the actions of a real man, indeed the actions of most Englishmen. No grumbling, complaining or rudeness..

I hope he gets his rematch, and if not, then I sincerely hope his career gets back on track. Jermain, you have a new fan..

It's a shame if you ask me, Taylor is good, real good but he just can't finish for love nor money.

My advice to Taylor is go and train in Tenerife with Froch on them high altitude runs with little oxygen, and get that stamina sorted out.

Fight was good enuf that I'd like a rematch, but I don't think Taylor can do it. Dude looks done at the top level.

iv lost alot of respect for JT, hes always been a gentleman outside the ring but for gods sake how many times does a fighter need to have someone point out a problem before he does something about it.

stamina is and has been a problem for JT since the first kelly pavlik fight and yet he doesn't seem willing to do anything about it. why not go running at altitude, recruit someone to help with roadwork, complete runs in smaller times - ffs its not hard.

It may be a mental problem and not just a stamina issue. Jermains work rate wasn't anything special and his output decreased as the fight went on so it could be something else all together.

Here's a thought! Jermaine is a fighter like many who do not realize that they do not have to lung capacity to be a championship boer until too late. I refuse to believe that no one in his camp works on conditioning. He is a championship level fighter for goodness sake! He works on it but he can only be so good. May great boxers have amazing lung capacity. larger than most.

Take a guy like jermaine who breezed through fine in short amatuer fights and many of his early fights were without a challenge. PLus there were severla early KO's. It is not until he faced stiff competiton in late rounds that we are aware of such a problem with Jermaine and by now it just is what it is. he cannot change his physical make up. He has trained in High altitude and any other place where it is said to be beneficial to stamina. He just may be hampered by this for the rest of his career.

Respect to the great heart of froch but I think we can all agree that he got Whipped for the first half of the fight. If JT cant finish early then he is shot.
