How do you think he would do against:

    Poonsawat
Cordoba (although he just lost, he was ahead on points)
    Dunne
    Jhonny Gonzalez
Toshiaki Nishioka (the WBC champ that Gonzalez is fighting in about a month)

    ?
I think he'd outbox Kratingdaenggym and win a decision or knock him out late.

I think he'd knock Cordoba out, Cordoba is a rangy guy but his defense isn't the best and him being a southpaw opens himself up to Lopez' right hook, which is Lopez' best punch.

Dunne would get knocked out, his defense isn't good, his chin is suspect and he has an annoying habit of taking pictures of his work as Teddy Atlas likes to say, he'd punch and then take a step back, drop his hands and reset. Lopez knocks him out in 2 or 3.

Jhonny Gonzalez could be the toughest fight out of the group because he's tall, rangy, pretty fast and has good pop, he's also a pretty well skilled fighter. He has an annoying habit of not tucking his elbows in sometimes though and that opens him up to body shots so I believe Lopez would ultimately knock him out late as well or win a decision, he could lose a few rounds early though. Gonzalez normally starts pretty well.

Nishioka is a southpaw, and from what I've seen has pretty fast hands, decent power, doesn't use his jab much at all, he uses the right hand as a range finder for the left. Gonzalez should beat him when they fight and Juanma would beat him too.

We haven't seen Juanma take a good shot right on the chops yet. If he can beat Cab then he is the real deal.

Man you guys are starting trouble. Poonsawat is one of my other faves.

That dude is too damn short though. He's gritty as hell and will last but I think JuanMa would beat him.

            Just not Cab.

Haha, I have almost 15,000 posts 2 years.

I started watching boxing in 2007 (the first card I watched on live TV was Diaz vs. Chavez/Dawson vs. Adamek).

I started out as a 100% Floyd boy, and then realized there were better things in the sport.

The thing that has impressed me about boxing is that the more I watch, the more I answer questions with more questions.

I started out thinking I knew everything, but now, I just want to learn as much as I can about the sport (which is why I constantly consult Silencers on pretty much every topic that comes into my head).

What can I say? I just love this sport.

Penalosa clearly doesn't have the power at 122, but he did take everything without any trouble last night.

He also took more than a few good shots from Cuauhtemoc Vargas back when he fought on Shobox, but I'm not exactly sure what kind of power Vargas brought to the table.

But, you are 100% right, the biggest question mark is still the chin.

Juanma would beat Caballero. That should be his next fight. Then if he moves up, he'll lose to Chris John or Steven Luevano.
