What do we think about Caballero vs. Lopez now?

I honestly think Jhonny could give him his toughest test to date. It's pretty packed, although I don't know a lot about most of the players there...
How do you think he would do against:
Poonsawat
Cordoba (although he just lost, he was ahead on points)
Dunne
Jhonny Gonzalez
Toshiaki Nishioka (the WBC champ that Gonzalez is fighting in about a month)

That's an execution...
The word outclass came to my mind during the early rounds of Froch-Taylor, and it wasn't as bad as Cotto-Gomez.
Now, think about how you two already have preconceived notions about this subject, and a rooting interest...
I seriously doubt you two come to a conclusion unless it's a draw or a Calzaghe-Lacy style beatdown.Comment

Gonzalez is a really special fighter, but...
The only chance he has is if he can KO Lopez, because there is no way his anti-durable ass goes 12 with such a hard puncher.
His downfall is his inability to take punishment.Comment

Look who he beated for those 2 belts, dude.
He won his WBA belt against Thai Cab Driver,Somsak Sithchatchawal( Ive seen the fight) and his IBF belt From Molitor, who only fought bums till he fought Caballero. He got KOd against a Journey man, named Rojas and the only 2 top fightes he faced at 122, one Schooled him and the other one got starched by Juanma in 1 round and wnet 12 rounds with him.
Again he is not as good as advertise!!!!Comment

He's clearly better than being given credit for, but...
He did fight a battle worn Somsak whateverhislastname is... who hasn't won a significant bout since the Caballero loss.
He also got a protected Molitor in a unification. Who had Molitor beaten up to that point? The list is damn short...
But, on the other hand, a win over Ponce de Leon is pretty good.
It's probably the best win on both resumes at this point, so... one can't really be called special without the other getting the same credit.
Caballero has won his championships in other people's backyards, Thaliand, Venezuela and Canada.
He actually was never the best lighter weight fighter in Panama (Cordoba was) but has improved a lot in the last 5 years and hasn't lost.
He had one stinker against Lacierva who fought really dirty, but everyone else, he's blown out, and usually on their home turf.
And he's 5'11 but doesn't balloon up. He is just naturally really skinny.
And he will give JuanMa hell IMO.
He busted up PDL before he ever lost, PDL was an undefeated killer and El Pelenchin dropped his ass on the way to an easy decision.
Cab has been battle tested and if you think Penalosa's right hand is anywhere near Cab's, I think you would be mistaken.
JuanMa ain't throwing 1000 punches when he's got heavy hands coming back at him.
Man, we shouldn't hype this up. Cuz it would just depress me this fight isn't gonna happen.Comment
