People calling for Taylor to quit are *****!!!

Taylor was only a round from winning a lopsided UD against Froch last night. A round from being the SMW champion of the world. He embarrassed Froch, and made him look amateur at times. He showed all the attributes of an elite boxer. A great jab, a great defence, and great power. The only thing he lacked was the finish.

People calling for him to quit are wrong. Taylor still has a lot to offer boxing. The first thing he needs is a trainer who will teach him how to box intelligently in the later rounds. How to frustrate an opponent and tie them up. And instill in him a mentality that will get him through tough times.

For me personally, it was hard to see a fighter ready to start his career afresh, and lose his opportunity in the final moments. It was a fight he should have won, but somehow lost, even though in my eyes, he deserved to win. That's not to take anything away from Froch. He is a world class operator, and proved it by overcoming the odds, and snatching a victory from defeat. But he was second best for 90% of the fight, and that doesn't sit right with me.

So to anybody that says Taylors career is over, I will argue the opposite. He only needs a win over a big name like Roy Jones, and he is back in the title mix again. With the right training and mentality, he can get back to the top, and beat the Kessler's, the Froch's, and the Bute's of this world.

Let me tell you something. Had Froch let his hands go early, he would have polished Taylor off before the 12th.

Taylor can stick around if he wants to be a gate keeper but he is no world beater.

I think if Froch let his hands go early, he would have been knocked down more than once. He was only effective in the later rounds because Taylor gassed out. Earlier on in the fight, he was being timed perfectly by Jermain and got hit with big shots everytime he tried to throw.

if you were'nt a complete dumbass you would have realised froch did let his hands go and they had plenty of exchanges, taylor always came out on top until he gassed

It wasn't exactly lopsided. I personally would've had Froch winning 114-112 had Taylor survived the final round.

Taylor fought a good fight for most of it though and showed a good defence so I see no reason for him to retire unless he really has no desire left.

Froch made far too many mistakes though and could have fought a whole lot better.

Because you count froch missing his punches and hitting taylors gloves as landed punches. 8-4 Taylor was winning

Not lopsided, but in most peoples opinion a close but clear victory.

And I think the manner in which Froch won was the only way he could have won. Taylor was the superior boxer, but Froch was the superior fighter.

Taylor has taken alot of punishment in his career, he probably should think about retiring. War with winky, hopkins, pavlik, and now froch. Time to hang it up unless he really believes he can get back on top again.

He can get on top again. He was 12 seconds from doing just that. He needs a coach who will force that drive, and determination into him.

They say that your body doesn't respond the same from taking punishment over and over again. This is the second time taylor has been ko'd and both times it was viscous... Not only is it bad for his health, but I'm sure his family members want him to hang em up now. It's not as if Taylor is struggling for cash, atleast I don't think he is... I hope he isn't
