Taylor sure as hell wouldn't have given Froch a rematch if he'd got the SD, unless it was in the contract (which I very much doubt, in this case). Froch was and is still the champ, who stopped the challenger on his own turf, and the other belt-holders await.

Forget Froch v. Taylor II, roll on Froch v. Kessler.
the rematch is unnecessary unless taylor wins a few good fights

Taylor took the fight seriously at least in training, he trained like hell. He just has stamina problems and it seems he always will. It's possible he under-estimated Froch in the middle rounds when he was out-boxing him so easily though, but not in training.

Kessler would destroy Froch though. But it would be a huge fight in Europe.

Kessler would destroy Froch, and the reason for giving Taylor a rematch is the same reason that rematches are generally given - because Taylor was way ahead on the cards at the end, and there were only 15 seconds to go when Froch got the knock-out. Froch could not conceivably have won with less to spare - all Taylor had to do was stay upright for another 15 seconds and he'd have got the decision, but he couldn't manage it. Plus any rematch would probably be in England, which would be make it a great fight for Froch.

Still I'd be happy to see either fight.

I saw the fight live, just got home. Taylor was content to jab from the outside. Definately should have been more aggressive, he showed a few times that he was able to hurt froch, but only went on the offensive in spurts. it was disappointing, i was really hoping taylor would win.

Jermain wasn't getting tagged with huge shots until he got tired. He wasn't throwing much from the 7th round forward, which allowed Froch to get his punches off and eventually get around Taylor's guard.

His poor stamina is frustrating as hell. He had no reason to be tired in that fight; it's not as though his punch output was outrageous before he gassed... he just needs to work with a conditioning specialist... BEFORE his next training camp.
