Carl Froch Rescues Title from the Jaws of Defeat

By T.K. Stewart - MASHANTUCKET, Conn. - WBC Super middleweight titlist Carl “The Cobra” Froch, 167, Nottingham, England, 24-0, 19 KO's made his American championship debut against former undisputed world middleweight champion Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor, 166, Little Rock, Arkansas, 28-2-1, 17KO's.

In an amazing display of guts and perseverance, Carl Froch rescued his title with 14 seconds left in the twelfth and final round to stop Jermain Taylor in what very well may go down as the comeback of the year - within a fight.

Down on two official judges' scorecards, by scores of 106-102, (he was leading 106-102 on the third card) Froch needed a knockout to retain his title and he was finally able to put together a powerful combination of punches to drop Taylor in the final round. In an amazing last round stoppage victory to retain his title, similar to Jake LaMotta vs. Laurent Dauthuille in 1950, Carl Froch held onto the green belt of the WBC title in positively stunning fashion. Man, what a fight! I had said going into this one that Taylor would be KOed in 10, but the dramatic knockout finish in the 12th was very impressive. Taylor put forth a great effort, but as predicted he faded late and got caught as he tends to do, and Froch to his credit showed the heart of a champion and closed the show. Great fight!

Jermaine Taylor is a bum. I lost money betting on that bum. He had the damn fight won. All he had to do was get on his bicycle and run and tie Froch up for 3 minutes and he gets the decision. Bum couldn't even do that. And I'm starting to wonder about his training habits. From the 7th or 8th round on to the finish he looked like he was in la la land. Well.............Froch put his ass in la la land in the 12th. Jermaine Taylor will never be a superstar. I still think he lost both of those fight to B Hop and I also think he lost to Winky. He may as well retire now. One thing for sure. I'll never bet on him again. Bum.

It was a good fight, I was wondering when Taylor would tire and then what the figt would be like, I mean seriously why cant he improve his stamina! Still it was an exciting 12th one of the best in a long time.

              its over

JT doesnt have what it takes Emanual stewert tried everything he could to make him a better fighter. took him to kronk Gym yelled at him during fights to fight smatter. I dont think there is any trainer out there right now that could help out might as well sign with buddy mgirk he at least stops the fight if his fighter is taking a beating. but I JT has left is try to RJ or hang em up. he did has his moments though i give him credit where credit is due. But he badly needed that fight to stay in contention. now we are going to hear calslappy put his to cents in soon enough.

Men, reat fight, and it played out like I said, that if it gone tp the Judeges Taylor would of win, because ihe is better technically, but Froch ahve the more power, and It showed, because he barely landed Punches in the first 9 rounds, but as soon as he laded a big ****, Taylor got stiffed.

                Props to Froch!!!!!!!!!!

Jermaine needs to call it a day. I've never seen a man whose talent surpasses that of his opponents, but not their will. All the man had to do was tie Froch up, and/or get on the bike for the last two rounds, or god forbid if you're tired...hold!

It's so difficult watching a guy lose to individuals that you know he is actually better than. Either way, it was a good fight. Taylor please retire.

This is an awful article.. extremely biased.. It's pretty obvious who the writer wanted to win.. good thing he is a complete moron who doesn't understand the concept of FINDING A WAY TO win.. which Froch has done every single time..

T.K. you should be ashamed of yourself
