first off, there is no way pernell is more accurate than floyd.

I dout you have watched much of Whitaker's career, as in fights with Chavez, Ramirez and others he is very accurate.

2nd, floyd maywether got hit less, while expending less energy, which is much mor effective imo... pernell just looked good

You really don't much about boxing, that ''bum'' you say was actually Diosbelys Hurtado who defeated Joel Casaymor in the amature ranks and was a brillant amature and when he fought Whitaker was in his prime with a 20-0 record and would go on to be Wolrd Champion. Whitaker was past his prime and was abusing his body with drugs and alcohol. But Whitaker being that good was still ranked as one of the best fighters in the world.

And you say he dropped Whitaker twice, hmmmm.... when Mayweather fought journymen Emanuel Augustus, Augustus hit Mayweather with alot of clean shots and busted his nose and gave him one hell of a fight, Mayweather would still go on to win, but was given all he could handle by a D class fighter.

and finally, dont challeng my knowledge of the sport. i have tons of bpxing knowledge. the real problem here is that you dont realize that with time, bigger, stronger, faster abd better fighters rise, making the older fighters irrelavent. Pernel was great for his time. but that was long ago. and now, he cant compare with the athletic and talented fighters of today. Now for me to say he wasnt great would be ******. For mw to say he cant beat the one true great of today is reasonable, and true imo!

Whitaker had the best defensive moves EVER! He did get knocked down in his career but against hard punchers like Roger Mayweather and Trinidad fighters who you have no shame in getting knocked down by. Mayweather may punch harder but Whitaker would make him miss all night and be busting him up while doing it. Whitaker all the way.
