Floyd took Starling the distance twice, Roach took Camacho and Chacon the distance.....
Haugen was in no way featherfisted, despite his lack of KOs. he was a very accurate puncher.

and imo, Roach taking Chacon to a MD and dropping him twice is honestly more impressive than anything Sr ever accomplished.

I agree with that. I think that if Sugar Ray had been around for a while before fighting Floyd, Floyd wouldn't have lasted the 10. I think that Roach had a higher accomplishment than Floyd, but I think Floyd's record was better overall.

roach knows how to bring up fighters. i know he's not gonna get credit for guys that are already established. some say roach was bad for them , i.e. hopkins for example , but if you think about it what can roach do for guys like hopkins , toney , tyson , etc.? those guys are already vets and established.

roach has improved a few guys. if you look at the younger kids he's worked with like bernabe concepcion you can tell the difference. like you can tell the difference between manny as a flyweight and his progression to the present.

i also see them when they talk to their fighters. i often hear roach say the things to his fighter that i myself as a fan see and a lot of things that i don't that when i hear roach point out i go , "yeah , that's right i didn't see that."

maybe my ebonics ain't that great but floyd sr. in his corner talks a lot of gibberish. it seems like he is playing to the camera more than anything.

look at their best work. floyd claims jr. and roach claims pacquiao. jr. might be better skilled technically than pacquiao but look at how pacquiao has improved. you can see it plain as night and day. with jr. we don't really know because even from the beginning lil' floyd was polished. plus uncle roger has trained him for some of his biggest fights not floyd sr.

i'm sure floyd sr. knows his stuff he was a pro boxer but as a trainer i think roach is superior. roach has what 3 trainer of the year awards? that's voted on by people in the industry that know a lot more than me.

I agree, Roach is a better trainer, by far IMO. But I meant their own fighting career.

                  oh their career?

tbh i've seen very few whole fights of them just clips. both of them were probably no better than journeyman , fringe contender status.

i know floyd got shot though so i don't know how that affected his career/skills.
