Is it possible for Floyd Mayweather Jr to get Maximum credit for a win?

Now the reason i say this is because their was a recent thread where May - Mosley was mentioned, Floyd has been criticised for not fighting an elite Welter

A ton of Floyd haters jumped on the thread and criticised Floyd because Mosley is 37 years old ( Yet these same people want to see Cotto - Mosley )

Now if Floyd fought Cotto, people would say he was ruined by Marg

If Floyd fought JMM and Pac, their would be the generic weight excuse

If he beat Williams they would say P willy was weight drained or some **** like this

My question is - IS THEIR A FIGHT OUT THERE THAT FLOYD COULD GET 100% credit for

No, ent gona happen. Its not even a joke its true. He wont get credit for winning.

If Pac destroys Hatton and Floyd beats him, they'll say Floyd should have fought him at 140 other than 147.

If he fights and beats Cotto, Cotto will be old. They'll also say Cotto was never the same after the Margarito fight.

If he beats Mosley, Mosley's too old.

This is true, no bull****. Guranteed.

It depends on who he fights.

Beats Shane: Shane is past his prime.

Beats Cotto: Never the same after Margarito

      Beats Williams: Lost to Quintana

He could even get in a time-machine and fight SRR in his prime and win (which he won't), and people will say it was because of the different eras.

He has to fight and beat Abraham who is undefeated...maybe Chad Dawson (but some think he is overrated so maybe not him).

Personally, I'm not sure how I would rate a win for each of the above either. You get credit for the win, but how many points?
Abraham might be his best bet or Dawson.

Floyd has gotten credit for plenty of fights in his early career.

What people don't approve of, is making it to the top of the mountain and then choosing to take on fighters who aren't that good at a particular weight, or fighters who are well past their best.

Had Floyd fought even two top tier welters from any of these names, Margarito, Cotto, Mosley, Williams or Clottey,

people wouldn't have any room to criticize.

However, he chose to avoid every single one for various reasons.

First its, "he makes money fights only". But how much did he make for Bruselles, Ndou, or Sosa?

Then its, "hes fighting for legacy". But other than winning the lineal welterweight championship which is an achievement in itself, look at who he defended it against, a JR welterweight.

After that, "he only fights mega fights", but retires before a second DLH fight, tells Cotto to get is PPV up, calls Mosley a sparring partner, etc. Those look like 3 mega fights to me.

Next you have people saying, "oh, that guy isn't worthy of a fight, he brings nothing to the table". You ask them who is worthy, and its pure silence.

Now you want us to give him credit for fighting a career superfeatherweight at a weight that said fighter has never fought at?

How much credit does someone really deserve for that when there are worthy challenges at that weight?

To be honest, I love it though.

The more time that passes with him making crappy fights, the more his legacy suffers and resume thins.

Floyd will never get the credit he deserves. His wins will always be underrated.

Agree: He should have fought Cotto...forget Margarito that guys a proven cheater but I hear you on that since nobody knew at the time...or even Shane back then, although he has the cloud with Balco. However, the only one that was truly on the market was Margarito...and Floyd was looking to cash out. He needed to fight Baldomir to capture the lineal title or people would say he wasn't the "legit" Champion. My problem was with his fights with Mitchell and Judah; I thought it was a waste of time. And I guess the possible fights with either Williams or Clottey (despite the weight issue).
Cotto just came around to fighting Clottey but no Williams. Not to say it's right, but...
Cotto is just better at not running his mouth.
