Cubans best fighter to me is Gamboa. But I don't know, he gets a little too ****y in their and has made mistakes by purposely dropping his hands to get his opponents to attack first so he can counter. That isn't always going to be a good idea to do when he fights better fighters. But so far his resume is probably the best in boxing for having only what 15-16 fights or so?

Can't knock on Gamboas resume, but I'm not sure if its a smart idea to throw him in against Chris John yet. Chris John has a style that could cause Gamboa some problems.

Gamboa is good but he isnt cubas best boxer just the one with the most hype. i think Guillermo Rigondeaux is much better but in time we will see what the these defectors (just like myself) do in the pros. i cant wait

But who has a better resume then gamboa at 15 fights? He has to be not just one of the best cuban fighters, but one of the best resumes so far with only 15 fights.

use that rational and apply it elsewhere

what if there was no American football and all NFL players played Rugby, or the rest of the world played American Football, you really think the demographics would be the same?

or apply it to eastern europe, there is a **** load of NHL players from eastern europe who are Heavy wt size, what if 6'9 260 lb Zdeno Chara, Slovak, who is a defenceman boxed instead

or all the World Strongest Man competitors, or Olympic Weightlifters/Powerlifters East & Nordic Europeans tend to dominate, or Wrestlers like Alexander Karelin boxed?

Sambo is Russia's National Sport, what if instead of choosing Combat Sambo as a combat sport to participate in they chose boxing?

          i disagree with your conclusions

you're only using it for the U.S., the rest of the world has great potential athletes who don't compete either

He's exciting to watch but I wish he would get rid of his flaws that shouldn't be that hard to correct but haven't been corrected yet.
Flaws are incredibly hard for some fighters to correct, example is froch who leaves his left way too low... He says he does it to get his opponents to come in so he can counter them but that is kind of ****** to fight like that, he is asking to be knocked the **** out with that kind of defense. And I don't care who you are, you can have a granite chin and the biggest boxing heart ever. Anyone can be knocked out.

So, I completely disagree with you saying its easy for some fighters to correct their flaws.

The weak inferior Americans hate the fact that superior Eastern European heavyweights are dominating...so they come up with pathetic excuses..."our heavyweights are in football and basketball, blah, blah, blah"

You Americans are pathetic excuse-making crybabies

                  Has he fought yet?

I think the amateur system needs to go back to what it original was when SRR, Ali, Foreman, etc. were fighting. It would prepare them for the Pro level more. It has become more "sport" than "fighting."

I think Gamboa has the potential to be even better than what he now is. He may need a better trainer and some more time to get adjusted and should stay away from the temptations in America.

I think it would be better for Cuba to let their fighters go Pro; the same with baseball. Maybe it's just me and I don't understand the situation entirely but I feel a bit cheated as a fan. I know about some of the "ideals" they discuss but come on...

                  eh...edit mess up; repost
