What was it like? What were the talks going around? Was he getting major credit for beating Morales? I just thought of this because it was right after he beat Pacquiao. Then it seemed like Pac got elevated to stardom right after in the rematch. So what was the deal?
Does any one remember how it was like when Zahir Raheem beat Erik Morales?

he was getting a lot of props from those who thought he was a good boxer to begin with and that Morales would take him too lightly
I was there for the pre fight presser and remember telling him that a lot of people are going to sleep on him.
I was also there at the fight and the crowd went hostile a bit when the scores were announced
most people though didn't give him credit because of the way Morales looked. From what I remember the fight was originally supposed to be at 130 but they had to change it because Morales stated he wouldn't be able to make that weight. He looked horrible, one of the few 135lb fighters I have that actually looked flabby and done -
i was at that fight and there was more action in the stands than in the ring...i remember at least 2 massive brawls after the 6th round...i imagine that the frustration levels of Morales fans were peakedComment

moralez was trying to engage a brawl with raheem thru the whole fight taunting him and everything but sticking to his guns and very calculated gameplan zahir raheem the slicker boxer outboxed moralez. it wasnt an exciting fight at all matter of fact the highlite of that bout was when the cameras was filming manny paquiao watching the fight from his dressing room and hes sitting on gary shaws lap lol CLASSIC.Comment

..and manny fans still give manny alot of credit for beating morales 2,3....we found out in there time who was a better fighter and that was erikComment

See I remember Raheem winning pretty clearly, but I don't remember him doing massive amounts of damage, which is strange, because all of a sudden after this fight, people were saying Morales was shot to hell.Comment

Dead on, as usual, dog. Morales really was crappy that night. Matter of fact, he was never good again.he was getting a lot of props from those who thought he was a good boxer to begin with and that Morales would take him too lightly
