Pacquiao Starts Peaking, Takes Time Off From Camp

Can someone please explain to me what the term "peaking" is in boxing terms? I mean I have an idea just by looking at the word but what I don't get is how a coach knows when a fighter is peaking, and how they could possibly control it so that it happens just before a fight.

If Manny loses to Ricky Hatton he will be exposed as the hype job that he is. All of his accomplishments to this point are over shot, over thill fighters or fighters who his handlers made come down in weight.

If he has hit a peak now its time to coast , normally the last 7 to 10 days is all winding down anyway if he has got there a little early he will just go easy and maintain for a few days then start cutting the working in half and then the last 3 days virtually nothing ,,, nothing to worry about .

Freddie Roach said prior to the Manny fight that Oscar couldn't pull
the trigger no more after the Mayweather fight. Oscar was way bigger
than Floyd, lil Manny out weighed the bigger Oscar? Sure Pac did a big
leap to fight Oscar but Roach knew what was up, maybe we all were
fooled by Oscar with the non sense but Roach made Oscar come down
to 147 after YEARS of not fighting there? I give Manny credit for his
performance but I bet if a strong wind hit Oscar that night he would
have fell over. With that said I think Manny is a great fighter and not
trying to twist facts because what I am saying actually happened.
And if Manny is so much greater than Floyd, how come Roach wants
Floyd to fight Manny at a catch weight to give him an advantage.
Even Arum stated that the longer Floyd is in active the better for
Manny before they meet? Come on man, they know what's up.

Since you took Roach's words about De La Hoya like it was from the bible, why are you doubting him this time? Roach has been saying that Manny will be faster, quicker, stronger and elusive for Hatton, what say you? Or are you just picking something from someone to suit your taste?

How long have you been watching Floyd Mayweather Jr fight?
All I have to say is that Freddie Roach has went on record to say
(after the De La Hoya fight which Manny dominated at 147) that
EVEN THOUGH Manny has fought comfortably at 147 already,
he would prefer if Floyd Mayweather Jr fight Manny Pacquiao
at a catch weight to give Manny an edge like he did to De La Hoya
taking him down to 147 where he was totally off his game. Floyd
fought the last of the real Oscar at 154 (moving up) to Oscar's
comfortable weight with the gloves Oscar wanted and the ring
and still lost against the smaller Mayweather who weighed 148
on fight night compared to Oscar who was 160.

People keep saying Oscar couldn't pull the trigger but the fact
of the matter is Floyd took that jab away by tagging Oscar up
& making him gun shy. Anyways that's all I have to say but I'll
leave you with this for your mental. If Pacquiao beats Ricky
Hatton at 140 it will be a bigger accomplishment for Manny
then Floyd at 147, like it was more of an accomplishment for
Floyd to beat Oscar at 154 (for the Jr Middle title) then 147
like Manny.

I used to watch Willie Pastrono sp on my daddys knee during Gillette Friday Nite Fights. I remember as a little boy beggin my dad to hurry up and lets leave Sears in Atlanta Ga and when we did I was in a jerk leaning over the back seat listening to the Liston Patterson fights !!!

I know nothing but what I do know is when I see somebody that is made , hyped that does possess the skills like May but shows the hint that lacks gameness to really be the Ace !! Take Ali, I have watched him fight all his fights as a boy and growing up. I remember that three year period he didn't get to fight. He crowed , trashed talked , people wanted him to shut up or better yet get shut up !!! He lost his prime during that time, he wasn't the same physically when he came back but he had something most didn't have to go along with his skill and talents and that is gameness. When he came back he fought all comers with delight and won until the end ! Think about it , first he fought the dreaded Liston, an unbeliveable killer in the ring, I wished we had him today. He had the longest and hardest jab in the business plus killer power in both hands but Ali beat him, then he fought another killer , George Foreman and another in the Trilla, when you really examine what a great many others have done in the past 50 years and then you see what Arum did with May and then what May did with Journeymen then Oscar it makes you wonder what this kid is REALLY made of !!!!!!!!! In other words his heart hasn't really been tested in the trenches !!!!!!!

If May will come out and take on ALL,,,,,,A L L ,,,, comers and come to WAR and not just pot shot journeymen, Men His size,,,,,not like Oscar , BUT men in their Prime and back up his Unsufferable MOUTH then I will consede and say he is one of the greats and gladly do it. I have seen lots of boxing in my short life, lots of fighters come and go, I have seen some I consider ACE's that had it all, men who have come to war , remember Tyson and Holyfiled 1 ??? Who was game and who was CUR ???? Tyson was a monstrous rough cur but when da Mang that was Gang got in there, HE EXPOSED HIM !!!!!!!!! Hence the second fight he quit quicker than the first and curs always quit quicker after exposed.

If May won't hide behind his 0 and come out and take on all the prime comers and prove himself like say Ali or Holyfield or Foreman and a host of others we all know about in tiime past, even Margo whom most hate now but game as they come, if he will just fight the best and not pick and choose to keep his inflated 0 , then and only then will he get my respect.

Yes I watched his fights, all I could, and rewatched the first Castillo fight, May's reaction to pressure in that fight has put the seed in my mind , What will he do when he is matched and in the TRENCHES !!!!!??????????? Yes is lightning fast, a most skillful boxer , fair power ,, great timing but its his HEART he has got me wondering about and he won't help the matter because up to now he won't Fight the big boys.
