Technically if the fight is going on, and no one is doing anything, the ref will take points. It's just that with boxers, a jab would offset when the ref could jump in. It counts as action.

No, that's the thing. It doesn't happen in either sport, really. Because fighters even WITHOUT the warning, will do just enough to make something like that unwarrented.
