Here, I'll use caps and bold it:

WORDS DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE THE SAME SUFFIX IN ORDER TO RHYME.

    rhyme
/raɪm/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [rahym] Show IPA noun, verb, rhymed, rhym⋅ing.
    –noun
    1. identity in sound of some part, esp. the end, of words or lines of verse.

    2. a word agreeing with another in terminal sound: Find is a rhyme for mind and womankind.

    jOOOOOOOOOOke
    cOOOOOOOOOOach

Obviously in speech you would put emphasis on the part of the word that you're rhyming, in this instance it would be the long "O" sound.

God. That was easy. Jesus, posts as ****** as that are far too frequent on this board.

blackirish, please just stop posting. This is one of those instances where I'm embarrassed for you.
You try so hard but yet you do not understand what a suffix is.

        Yes, I do.

I only mentioned suffixes, because he was thinking along the lines of only words that are matched syllable for syllable can only be considered rhyming, including the suffix.

        Such as:

        Sooner
        Mooner
        Tuner

        etc.

        Nice try, though.

I mean, its kind of easy to think of, considering that Roach is a boxing coach....
I thought it was fairly clear cut that he thinks Roach is a joke of a coach.

            What if I said,

            cOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOach

            and lOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOan

But in the words we are discussing, "Joke" and "Coach" such an emphasis is not needed considering that they both end with hard sounds.

"Ke" and "Ch", which makes it a lot easier.

Sr isnt putting any stress on the OOOO sound at all, its a very brief sound(like its supposed to sound).

            does not rhyme.

wtf are you trying to joke around with me? neither coach nor joke has a suffix.
            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suffix
maybe if he made it something like 'you have to be joking, Roach is coaching?' it would have worked, because then they have similiar sound endings as well as the vowel sound.

I'm not saying your argument was void or anything, it's just that the way you used the word in that one particular post was wrong or at the very least misleading.

I wasn't talking to you. Look at what I quoted.

Please point out, where I stated that Joke and Roach had a suffix.

That was a comment targeted toward your general criteria of what you consider rhyming wrods.

Jesus, have people not heard of any kind of music?

Words don't need to EXACTLY rhyme. Listen to ANY music and get the hell out of here.
