I admit to having seen only one fight with Kotelnik and that was against JR Witter..

Witter got the home town decision BIG TIME..Witter was completely shut out the second half of the fight.. Kotelnik consistently beat Witter to the punch.. and was almost Impossible to hit cleanly.. If Kotelnik had any power he would have KO'd Witter .. that I have no doubt of..

I will go on record agreeing with you. Kahn doesn't have it.

I think Khan will win a UD but if Kotelnik lands one good power punch it could all be over.

But then again i he didn't look that great against M'Baye, I think Khan has the speed to beat him but he has such bad punch resistance so Kotelnik has a very good chance at knocking him out.

Kotelnik is very accurate, he WILL land power punches and he WILL KO that glass chinned British hypejob.

Khan also has some serious thump to his punch... he is an Offensive Wizard..

And Kotelnik is not hard Puncher.. But Khan does not take a Punch well indeed..and Kotelnik couldn't miss with his cross against Witter.. so maybe it will be a case of who wears out quicker..

Most people seriously over-play the chin thing, IMO. Chins can improve. Ali was chinny in his early career and had a superb chin later on.

Khan's whole body has changed dramatically since joining Roach. He used to have spindly legs and too much muscle on his back. Now his legs are sturdier and his back is leaner and more flexible. This will improve both his punch-resistance and his upper body movement.

He used to keep his hands low and his chin in the air. He now keeps his hands up and his chin tucked in much more.

Khan had never been taught how to block or roll with punches properly, before Roach took him on. He's been working intensively on that with Roach. Also his stance used to be all wrong, and Roach has been working on that, too - and stance has a lot to do with punch resistance.

He also didn't used to clinch when hurt, so that once he was hurt it was easy to hit him with follow-up punches. Against Barrera, he clinched immediately and effectively whenever he was hit by a solid punch, which he had never done before.

His tactics in general used to be appalling - he has a superb jab but he rarely used it properly before teaming up with Roach. He used to swing so wildly that he moved straight onto punches, which has the effect of greatly increasing their effective power - analogous to two cars in a head-on collision. The effect on him of Prescott's jab is over-stated - Nigel Benn was knocked out cold by a jab against Michael Watson, and lots of boxers have been rocked by hard jabs. If you're moving onto a hard jab and don't see it coming, it can do damage.

He has sparred intensively with Pacquiao, and stood up well to his punches, reportedly. Not the same as fighting Pac for real, obviously, but Pac hits pretty hard even in sparring.

i seriously disagree i think khan has a weak punch just very fast, there is no pop in it and id say this is proved by the fact he is yet to actualy KO anyone all the stopages have been a ref coming in to stop it, he aint sparked anyone out the way he was himself, Kotelnik aint that big a puncher but when he dose he can KO them, he is been greatly underestimated and khan could be made to eat his words
