Did they actually see him buying the gun. If so he's f@cked. But it sounds like all they have are a lot of accusations and hope on of them admits to one of them. If his girl takes the rap on the gun he should be alright.

It says he gave money to his girl to buy it the first day, but they can't confirm or convict Kirkland without one of them actually talking. A lawyer can just say "How do you know she wasn't the on trying to buy the gun?" and if the gun was in the center console "It wasn't in his possession." If this happened in her car instead, he could have get off easy.
