James Kirkland's Situation is Not Getting Any Better

The legal situation involving undefeated junior middleweight James Kirkland is not getting any better. On Sunday Kirkland was arrested when a firearm was found in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Austin, Texas. Kirkland, who is currently on probation for a 2003 armed robbery charge, was booked by the Travis County Sheriff's Department and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. [details]

Unless Kirkland gets out of police custody in the next couple of days you can pretty much cross him out for fighting on May 2.

Quote from one of my fav movies "A Bronx Tale" "The sadest thing in life is wasted talent". Unfortuantely this looks like that will apply here!

              lol, owned.

Federal custody with no bail, boxing is going to be the last thing hes worried about.

So is he just on probation or out on parole? There is a big difference, the latter being the worst case scenario. If he's on probation, there is still a chance he can get off

*tsk tsk, another wasted opportunity. Hard to feel sorry for someone lacking basic common sense. Obviously his stint did not help him mature. Looks as though he'll have plenty of time now to grow the **** up

He was on probation after doing 2 yrs (I think) for armed robbery. Thus, he's a convicted felon and its illegal for a convicted felon to own (unregistered at that) a handgun.

He is in federal custody w/o parole, homeboy just kissed his career good bye
