But if you're asking which WW I'd personally like to see him fight, then my answer is Cotto. I've been hoping for Mayweather vs Cotto since 06.

It's a just a shame some of the mystique is gone now that Cotto is no longer undefeated but I still wanna see it. Mayweather vs Mosley would also be nice.

What sells more Marquez-Mayweather or Cotto-Mayweather?

Cotto Mayweather is the fight, and that's it. Until Mayweather fights Cotto he will never get all the respect he deserves. It may not be fair, but it's what boxers like De La Hoya did to earn their recognition.

But should it be? I would say Marquez is the better fighter so that should be the marquee matchup. Cotto may be a "sexier" opponant from an action standpoint but that sort of consideration isn't likely to influence me.

JMM is arguably a better fighter than Cotto yes. At LW which is the point here. If Floyd want's to come back at 147 he should fight a WW not force a LW up in weight. That's a bitchy move or at least don't try to sell it as a legit fight because it isn't.
