wtf are you talking about? hatton beat tszyu, floyd beat gatti (horribly) and later down the line, floyd beat hatton. Kill that 140 ****, because you know floyd was the man. And in case you want to bring up that hatton is a better fighter at 140, remember that floyd was as well.....
You forgot to bold this part of that post.Comment

from a "haters" perspective, mayweather absolutely has to fight a ww to be considered great. idk why, but thats just what ive gathered. A fan would say that fighting either mayweather or pac would be great for floyd. Why? because it the truth for any other fighter. Example:
The Dream Match: Pacquiao-De La Hoya
Pacquiao is coming off a win in the the only fight he has ever fought above 130. He fought only one time at 135. Oscar, who was suppose to fight antonio margarito, chose to pull pacquiao up to the ww limit of 147, and this was fine in the eyes of most, even though Oscar has fought at light mw and mw for a good portion of his career. They even got a 24/7 show, and got the attention of alot of ppl who dont even watch boxing.....
To me and most floyd fans, Its a great idea for floyd to do the same thing, but in comes the haters. Saying **** like "floyd is a coward for this" or "will floyd ever fight a prime ww?"
That, is biased, and overall bull****!
Why is it okay for oscar, who has fought at 160, to fight a former featherweight, but when floyd, who has never fought above 150, does it, its a crime?
Is marquez smaller than pacquiao? no. Is floyd bigger than oscar? Hell no. This match is much more fair than the dream match was. And to top this all off, FLoyd is fighting at a catch weight...... u haters never cease to amaze me with the bull**** that you bring into this forum when it comes to mayweather......
In terms of the "prime ww" thing. You say no one cares that Oscar fights smaller guys and that Floyd shouldn't have to fight welterweights either. Well here's one big difference. Oscar stopped being a serious fighter a long time ago. After he lost to Hopkins I think everything in his career was based on money. Not saying he wasn't out to prove anything, but money was his main motivator. Floyd, however, is still an elite fighter and probably the best in the world, something Oscar hasn't been in a long time. When Oscar was among the best in the world, he fought Quartey, Mosley, Trinidad, Hopkins, Vargas, catch my drift. He fought the best guys in his weight division.
Now personally, I have no problem with him facing Pac and Marquez, because Floyd is small. But as the boxing public sees it, Floyd needs to validate himself against a Cotto, Mosley, Clottey, or Williams because they are the best in his division. If Floyd wants to fight LW and JWW that's fine, be a lightweight or JWW. But what needs to stop is demanding that smaller fighters jump to your weight class, while shutting out the top guys in your weight class.
And if you think it's all about the money, be realistic. What sells more Marquez-Mayweather or Cotto-Mayweather?
Cotto Mayweather is the fight, and that's it. Until Mayweather fights Cotto he will never get all the respect he deserves. It may not be fair, but it's what boxers like De La Hoya did to earn their recognition.Comment

Who is this great WW that Mayweather needs to beat???Comment

But if you're asking which WW I'd personally like to see him fight, then my answer is Cotto. I've been hoping for Mayweather vs Cotto since 06.
It's a just a shame some of the mystique is gone now that Cotto is no longer undefeated but I still wanna see it. Mayweather vs Mosley would also be nice.Comment
