Mayweather vs. Marquez enhance floyds legacy?

Assuming this fight gets made, How much does a win over marquez enhance his legacy, if any? Some call it a tune up, others a legit fight.

The obvious issue is the weight, and how much beating someone who is ranked #2 lb 4 lb in the world, but essentially a jr. lightweight carries?

Personally, I'd say very little. I think the issue of disparity of weight divisions is a bit much in this case. even a catchweight of 143-144 favours floyd. Marquez had 1 fight at lightweight, essentially a jr. lightweight. The style of Marquez also does play right into the strengths of floyd. Im expecting the counter puncher to lose widely to the faster, slicker, bigger, and more accurate counterpuncher.

144 fair game? i would say 140 fair game. I dont expect floyd to show much ring rust, the guy's a gym rat, always in tip top shape & he's been doing this for too long. Marquez is getting up in age.

Again, the guy was going to 140 anyways. If he had took 1 fight at 140 and then fouhgt Floyd at 144 then you wouldnt be saying that. He wasnt going to stay at LW. He was moving up so really he wouldve just been 1 weight lower and fighting a guy who is by far, the smallest WW in boxing

He was going to 140, but the main reason why was pacman who has basically moved up at the same time as hime, whereas floyd has been at the 140 n up for years now. I think that would make floyd bigger, coupled with the advantages he already has I don't see how this fight changes his legacy drastically, especially to ATG top 20 as an above poster said.

Floyd's legacy is already set. These last few fights are just the icing on the cake.
