Its all part of a tactics used just to get Gary shaw/darchin unto the negotiation table, Arum really really wants the fight for Dony....but the way the Donaire/shaw relationship end would make this fight really impossible to make at the moment.

Donaire is the most overrated fighter in boxing now. Pretty much the new Mikkel Kessler.

Is there a pattern here? Bob has learned to keep his fighters (by any b.s. necessary) from any fighter who might have a chance to beat them.. ie....Pavlik vs Hopkins...

Bob is such a *****. He doesn't want any more of his fighters being put on retirement by Darchinyan. I was at the fight vs Arce and the crowd was 40% for Armenian and I was also at Donaire's previous fight at mandalay bay and there was noone there for him. SHUT UP BOB, YOU ARE A MORON

Arum is really playing this horribly....

Donaire desperatly needs publicity, and Darchinyan for a small man has a relatively good amount of it. Arum knows Shaw doesnt want Vic to take this fight (for whatever reason). Knowing this Arum should be calling for this fight, and can pretty much make it look like Darchinyan and Shaw are scared (whether its the case or not this will be the consensus perception).

Its a win/win situation. If Vic and Shaw accept, then Donaire gets a high profile fight that fans want to see, (despite the outcome of the first) which he and Donaire should feel they have a good chance of winning, and they will make more money than they could fighting anyone else in the low divisions. If they don't accept, they can always spin it like I stated earlier and say Darchinyan fears them and they can get a decent amount of publicity from a war of words.

Perhaps Arum has lost his touch in the public relations/promoting game.

                  ??
KOing a champ and 3 top contenders on his last 4 fights doesn't impress you?

If that were true, Arum wouldn't need to publicly pretend that no one wants to see the fight when that's obviously untrue. He'd call Vic out instead, and try to make the fight. But he won't call Vic out because he's scared Vic might agree to fight Donaire, and that's clearly the last thing Arum wants to happen.

i think it might be time for the bobfather to hand in the reins of the company to his son in law todd. He's on his way to senility.

How can a guy darchinyan, who is in the top 10 p4p in ring magazine & has been headlining cards on showtime & has 3 major sanctioning belts be in a rear view mirror???
