what i meant is that pacquiao still fought a great fight against delahoya, that seems to be forgotten by people who just bring up the dead body.....i dont believe just anyone could have gotten in there and done the same as pacquiao, i have a hard time believing hatton could pull it off that easy....dont forget it was oscars fault he went down to 145, he could have came it at 147.....

Ironically, the people who gave Pacquiao absolutely no shot at De La Hoya are the ones crying about the weight issue. It was definitely a possibility when the fight was signed at 147 and it was also a possibility that De La Hoya would knock out Pacquiao but that wasn't what happened. It's been 4 months since the Dream Match and there are a lot of great matches to look forward to.

No you're wrong. People like you just want want to believe people are asking for excuses , but real deep down you know the truth. Floyd Mayweather should get no credit gain nothing for beating an older guy(Marguez) thats fighting in a division he's not capable of competing in.

Infact you all know he'll return back to his normal weight once he has fought Mayweather. Mayweather wants to justified himself from fighting a smaller guy. He pretend the fighter is greater than he really is just to win some credit if he beats him.
Its pathetic quite actually when he does this to avoid the real competition. Infact he might be thanking Oscar De La Hoya for opening up new challengers he never thought possible he could face. I know that Mayweather just might send his buddies to defend him cause he knows the world is talking and they know exactly how he's like. A coward.

Not sure how much credit he can get for beating JMM, but he can get credit for any fighter that fights at JrWW that fights at the same weight Floyd does by fight-time. That's why I gave him credit for knocking out Hatton despite the b.s. claims Hatton is really a JrWW (even though he never weighs in as a 140 pound fighter by fight-time and weighs the same as Floyd). And he should get a lot of credit if he beats any of the big WW that out-weigh him by fight-time. Or even Manny who weighs the same as Floyd...although I really don't care about that fight either.

I'm not in favor of the JMM bout; no need. Although the reason why he is probably doing it is because, (1) Pac struggled against JMM and wants to rub it in his face; (2) JMM is a "name" and is regarded as one of the top P4P fighters right now and Floyd wants that boost; (3) it's less risky to fight him despite JMM ability as a fighter than say, Cotto right now coming off a long layoff.

In the end, Floyd needs to get a fight made with Cotto or Mosley. Although people will bring up that Cotto probably isn't the same since Margarito and Mosley is old. So, he now has to fight Paul Williams but how good is Paul anyway since he lost to Quintana?
So now we have Floyd vs. Pavlik? No, Pavlik lost to Old Man Hopkins. Maybe a fight with Abraham may get him credit. I would say Chad Dawson but we all know Chad Dawson is an overrated fighter that gets hyped up because he is an African-American.
He can't fight the Klit brothers because Vitali is passed his prime and Wlad has already been knocked out a few times.

                  Did I miss anything?

i agree with this post....I just dont like how people think boxing has become so predictable lately.....I got news for some of you.....rational fans love boxing because of the UNpredictability of the sport.....one is going to pull the upset hatton or marquez....you watch.....I'm one of the few people on here that think pac-floyd would be boring as ****....sure it would clear up somethings, but as far as excitement to watch, it would be like watching paint dry.

Wow, I think you're thinking about this too much and about Mayweather too much.

Anyway, do you remember when the great Oscar, who is supposedly aloud to do anything and all fighters must bow to his every whim, got asked to do a fight with Pac? You remember what happened? Pac said he's not going to fight at anything but 147. Oscar hadn't gotten down there in nearly a decade but because he was a little guy, and Marquez is even smaller, he said "Sure, I'll get down to 147 for you".

Now, Mayweather only has to drop to 140, which would be nothing for him. He's a 140 pound fighter, not a 147 pound fighter. That's all that he is asking. I don't see what all the fuss is about. Mayweather will probably be better at 140 and might even beat him easier. All you Mayweather fans, not that I don't like him but I'm just not obsessed by him, are really creepy.

This is an obvious thing and would happen anywhere. Hopkins came down to a catchweight for Pavlik. Oscar came down a division for Pac etc etc etc. Let it go and just try to underst6and that people don't want to see a complete mismatch because, like it or not, Marquez just does not belong, in any way shape or form, at 147. He's a very small framed guy, unlike fighters like Pac and Mayweather.

                      Oh yeah, and he's 36.
