And when Mayweather was a SFW, what was Marquez? This is just apologetics.

I don't understand how Mayweather gets praise for not fighting anyone who has a chance of beating him.

Mayweather is a WW. Marquez is a LW. Period. End of story.

It's amazing how a washed up Morales was able to school Pacquiao with ease, yet a prime Marquez barely gets the win. (I did have him beating Pac twice on my scorecard)

After Mayweather schools Marquez, I just don't see how Arum and Roach are going to protect Pacquiao from his ass whooping any further. The public demand would be too much despite Roach and Arum desperately trying to tell us there are better fights out there, like the chinny Cotto.

He beat Baldomir and Judah dude. Marquez has never fought at anything close to WW and he's supposed to jump straight up to WW and fight Mayweather? To you that's the same thing as Mayweather fighting Baldomir?

          :wank:

          Gimme a break.

Mayweather was a super featherweight nearly TEN years ago. You can't justify that--that's like me saying Oscar De La Hoya is a lightweight.

I don't have a problem with Mayweather facing Marquez in his first bout back. It's perfect for him; Marquez has the skills to help him work out the kinks and perhaps even trouble him, but not enough pop for this fight to ever be in doubt. Mayweather takes this easy. But the fact that Mayweather insists the fight take place at 147 is proof that those who claim Mayweather need not fight the Williams, Mosley's, Clottey's, etc of the world because he's "not a real welterweight" need to shut up.

He fought the WBC Champion and #1 Light Middleweight at 154 with close to a 20lb weight disadvantage.

If Marquez can't hang with Floyd because of a measly 4lb weight disadvantage, he should get off the p4p2 spot, ASAP!
