I was kind of glad that they put Ali on blast a bit. It was something different. It did feel pretty onesided, but it was interesting.

i enjoyed reading this article. it's a nice change for this site to actually publish REAL articles of this caliber opposed to the usual "OMGZ! Manny Pacquiao wakes up at 4:58AM and ties his left shoe before his right!" (written of course, by Ronnie Nathanielzs, which btw i had no idea was an older aged philippino man until i saw hbo's Thrilla in Manila)

                  kudos to the writer

however, as well written as this article was, i have to disagree that the HBO documentary was unfar, per se, in any way shape or form. there have been countless documentaries, films, books, articles, etc, telling Ali's side of the story, making Ali out to be an amazing man, portraying Ali as a model citizen, telling the story of the legend that is Ali.

I think it's a breath of fresh air having HBO make a documentary basically telling the story through Frazier's point of view and in all honesty, I'm not sure how I feel about Ali anymore. It seems that his charisma has forever skewed the public's view on Joe Frazier's legacy.

We also clearly see that Joe would've came out ahead in that trilogy. Ali drove him to such infuriated levels with the taunting, that he would've come out in the last round on pure fury alone in that 3rd fight while Ali would've passed out from exhaustion and Joe would've got the nod. I wonder how he would've been viewed in history then?

Im very interested in watching this now. Ive never cared for Ali because of how he treated Joe (as anyone who has read my posts on Ali would know) but reading that article and seeing how defensive and desperate the author sounds trying to defend Ali, I have to see what he is so afraid of.
