I have little to no respect for Chad Dawson

Each fight is different, but I had it 114-113 for hopkins.

Chad Dawson has great speed, solid power, solid chin (sure he was hurt against Johnson, but he was flashed KD against Harding and got up from Adamek's right hand. Not too many guys can say they went the distance with Adamek recently, let alone whipped his ass) and he loves to fight. Chad is a nice kid as well. After his fight with Johnson and when the press conference was over. I got to talk with him for about 20min during the extremely late walkout bouts that night. I had him winning the Johnson fight as well, but i couldn't argue against a draw. Dawson is the best young fighter 175 and up in the game and if he was just a bit more marketable personality-wise he could be a big star. BTW, right now I would handily pick him over Hopkins and Calzaghe

Just put on the dawson johnson fight for a few mins, the commentating really influences the way people see the fight.

Round 2 was cracking me up

"BIG RIGHT followed by a left by dawson" (Both blocked by johnson)

*Johnson lands a clean right, no commentary*

"Two lefts by Dawson" (Again clearly blocked)

"Dawson digs to the body" (But johnson blocked)

Look at Johnson in the post fight interview, he looked pretty good for a guy who's getting hit clean with all these shots.

There was a reason why the crowd booed as saw as they heard the decision.

the crowd did boo, partly because Johnson is a Florida fighter (based out of Miami) and because he smartly played to the crowd, and was more entertaining in spots against Dawson, but he won in spots; Dawson fought more. Yet the media section had 30 or so writers giving the nod to Dawson and 4 giving it to Johnson, with a 1 or 2 draws tossed in. We weren't swayed by the commentary. It was a close fight, but there is no one that I know that thought Johnson won besides Johnson himself. He was pretty funny at the post-fight conference too. Between him and Tarver, Dawson should've sat back and took note at how to entertain with more than his fist.

I like Dawson. I'm impressed with him. He's young, and he's accomplished quite a bit already.

Im aware of some of the media scores and they were off imo, but thats, cool, its opinions.

But I can tell you now Showtime were calling shots for chad dawson that were clearly blocked, again, look at johnson's face in the post fight interview, he just didnt take the punishment they were making out. He was blocking and catching alot of those shots on gloves.

Imo, Johnson landed the cleaner shots, the more effective shots, had chad in serious trouble.

Glen Johnson talks about the difference between a blocked and a landed punch and reminds people that shot that hit gloves are not scoring shots.

According to him this is days after the Dawson fight, look at his face.

Chad Dawson is a really good fighter. He has all the tools to become one of the top Lb for LB fighters in the sport. He lacks one punch power and a lot his kos will come with accumilation rather than with one punch, but there is no denying the guys skills. How can you not like someone who punches in combinations and has above average defense. I understand that you may not think the guy is the real deal, but anytime hes in the ring as of late he has put on good shows. Dawson-Johnson was a fight of the year canidate.
