Either you like him or not he did bring new fans and carried the sport of boxing for a while when there were no other stars. Oscars was good for boxing and is a classy guy. I'm not his biggest fan but I know what he meant in beloved sport. Its like it was metioned before in one of the blogs, when he was fighting a lot of non-boxing fans would watch. Even if you didn't like the guy you watch him just hoping he lose. Hope he does well.

Meastro, I agree Oscar took part in some shady BS such as the demands on the Mayweather fight (gloves, ring, etc.) and the idiocy of the training for Pacquiao, but the man WAS BOXING for many years. I work in an environment where 99% pf the people don't follow boxing for ****, but if Oscar was fighting, they'd come up to me and talk about the big fight that weekend. Considering the fact boxing is not at all mainstream, that's pretty telling. He was skilled, engaging, classy, and a pioneer for the sport. If you are a fan, you have to appreciate that and quit the BS.

Also don't give me that SCHIT about he took on ALL Comers. BULLSCHIT again. He had opportunities to fight his contemporaries (they're all damn near the same age) Vernon Forrest(his Olympic teammate) at both welter and Jr Middleweight along with Winky Wright, both of whom he avoided like the plague. He fought "ALL COMERS" when he stood to have a sizable FINANCIAL gain (30 mill to Hopkins 10 mill for example)

Ask yourself this question. If teeny bobber chics didn't find the Golden GIRL attractive and he didn't have that piece of schit flip flopper conartist (#2) promoter Bob Arum behind him 3/4 of his career, would the people that HAIL Oscar really be hailing him?? Seriously??

*** Oscar, he lied his ass off saying training camp was going great, that he would knockout Pacquiao, that Valero didn't give him his black eye. All a load of BS. Now he comes clean and says he was getting his ass whooped in training camp by Valero, just like Valero said himself. WHAT A FRAUD!

He lied his ass off so he could sucker the world into buying his PPV so he could collect his $20M. That was a disgrace to the sport. *** off Oscar!
