Maestro USA is not a boxing fan and nor is vitali1999. They're both just haters.

Either you like him or not he did bring new fans and carried the sport of boxing for a while when there were no other stars. Oscars was good for boxing and is a classy guy. I'm not his biggest fan but I know what he meant in beloved sport. Its like it was metioned before in one of the blogs, when he was fighting a lot of non-boxing fans would watch. Even if you didn't like the guy you watch him just hoping he lose. Hope he does well.

I work in an environment where 99% pf the people don't follow boxing for ****, but if Oscar was fighting, they'd come up to me and talk about the big fight that weekend. Considering the fact boxing is not at all mainstream, that's pretty telling. He was skilled, engaging, classy, and a pioneer for the sport. If you are a fan, you have to appreciate that and quit the BS.

I love the way ***** ass f.aggotts love to run their mouths and hate when they never laced gloves up...lol

Oscar is no different than any other athlete that hangs around too long, he thinks he can do it but in the end it takes a defeat like he had against Pac to realize he doens't have it anymore.

but Oscar has always been sincere and honest man. Those who really hate him on a personal level have some deep rooted issues. The guy has heart.

Get the **** outta here. The biggest, OVER-RATED con-job viewed as "GREAT" in the history of AMERICAN Sports BAR NONE.

Name me ONE "GREAT" accomplishment of Oscar's? 10 titles?? Give me a got damn break. Half of those were for BS WBO belts that no one gives a schit about. What else?? Come on I'm waiting??

Gift decisions against STURM, Whitaker arguably Quartey. He's NEVER won a big fight against anyone that WASN'T shop worn (Vargas) or past their prime(Chavez).

As far as him being a "class act" by those of you that call yourselves fans, your just as ***** as he is. I guess you all conveniently forgot about these great quotes of his..
              • "I gave him a boxing lesson **** ****" (after Trinidad but he sure didn't say that during the interview)
              • "I will be launching a FULL INVESTIGATION"
              • "I'm in the best shape of my life" then after a loss "I tore my rotator cuff during training"
              • "I won't fight a Puerto Rican, err I won't fight another Mexican"
              • "The decision was so close why not make it a draw. Why take it away from me like that?"

Oscar's defenders will say, "he brought a lot to boxing" Yeah, a bunch of BULLSCHIT PAY PER VIEWS (Yuri Boy CompTOAST, Patrick Charpentier, come on), totally ONE SIDED negotiating tactics.

Also don't give me that SCHIT about he took on ALL Comers. BULLSCHIT again. He had opportunities to fight his contemporaries (they're all damn near the same age) Vernon Forrest(his Olympic teammate) at both welter and Jr Middleweight along with Winky Wright, both of whom he avoided like the plague. He fought "ALL COMERS" when he stood to have a sizable FINANCIAL gain (30 mill to Hopkins 10 mill for example)

Ask yourself this question. If teeny bobber chics didn't find the Golden GIRL attractive and he didn't have that piece of schit flip flopper conartist (#2) promoter Bob Arum behind him 3/4 of his career, would the people that HAIL Oscar really be hailing him?? Seriously??

I challenge ANYONE that likes this "GOLDEN FRAUD" to refute ANY TRUTHS I've said about him!!

Good Riddance and hopefully his company produces better undercards than they have since their inception.

*** all the haters!!! boxing would not be what it is if there was no oscar de la hoya. he kept people interested in the sport regardless if he won or lost. no one will ever have as much of an impact on boxing then oscar de la hoya.

He lied his ass off so he could sucker the world into buying his PPV so he could collect his $20M. That was a disgrace to the sport. *** off Oscar!
What wouldn't YOU do for $20,000,000?

Most people I know would do significantly worse for a fraction of that amount of money.
