    Paul Williams' Kryptonite

For the second time in Paul Williams career the bandwagon is full of new fans. But how long are we going to hype The Punisher??? IMO, he is the most difficult boxer to fight with from welter to middle weights without a doubt.

Long ago I posted on how he will do against other fighters. After he beated Margarito, I thought that no one could beat PW, not even PBF, Mosley, Cotto, Cintron, Forrest, Santos, Angulo, Kirkland, Sergio Martinez, Pavlik, Sturm, and Abraham. Eighter opponents would be too short, or too slow, or lack boxing skills to overcome PW attributes. Then the Quintana fight came along and shock the boxing world by delivering 12 perfect rounds to outbox and defeat Paul Williams. It was the first time that I was glad while loosing bet money.

Now it is a matter of time before another boxer demonstrates that Paul Williams is not unbeatable. At WELTER WEIGHT, I believe PBF could be that fighter, but then again, recent history shows us he will take on smaller, slower or older opponents ONLY. (Gatti, Baldo, ODLH, Hatton) So PBF is out of the picture. Can Cotto be the one to weaken PW with body shots??? That tall skinny body sure can be broken down the stretch with devastating left hooks to his body. Tough call.

I don't see anyone on 154lbs having a chance agaisnt The Punisher, maybe Sergio Martinez, as he moves horizontaly very well, uses well the space in the ring, his speed is decent and he showed to have a good chin when he fought Kermit Cintron. But I would not put money on Sergio. At Middle Weight, I only see Pavlik having a chance due to his past experience, and power. Great boxers could not beat Jermaine Taylor, and Pavlik did it twice... can't forget that fact. Sturm, and Abraham can't handle The Punisher, period.

So once again, Paul Williams is the most avoided fighter in Boxing Today. But who you got able to beat him and why??? If Quintana did it, why can't another boxer do the same. I appreciate Paul Williams and love to watch his fights, but I keep my feet on the ground, HE AIN'T SUPERMAN, and if he was, there is always KRYPTONITE!!!

Abraham has the equalizer. I doubt the punisher can withstand a couple flush landed shots on his porous defense.

You are partially right. PW has taken big shots and ate them without taking a step back. If you watch his fights, opponents due score big hits, but a few big hits won't win the fight. For every big hit landed on PW, PW lands a hundred. Abraham does't have the athletism and speed to deal with The Punisher.

Yes, I believe Pavlik could do the trick. It coulkd be a very interesting fight. But remember PW is no Miranda, nor Taylor; PW is a total different package. Would love to see this fight.

people actually believe that cotto has absolutely no chance.which is utterly hilarious.as you said, the guy has a skinny body.i have yet to see paul catch a body shot and actually handle it well.(maybe he has)if cotto catches him early to the body he would beat paul williams.at some point people need to realize that williams size very much could be a disadvantage vs cotto.cotto is a ****ing dwarf next to him.he's going to have to get inside him to hurt Williams, and all that's gonna be in front of him is that skinny body.

i do believe he can beat pavlik based on his high level of activity.
Abraham demolishes him.badly.dude is a ****ing tank.

thse p will fanboys remind me of chicks when i drop trow......

You may go ahead and do it yourself. Last I heard I was not writing an English class monography paper.
