offensive brawler that uses speed and movement to overwhelm his opponents. It took Pacquiao 8 rounds to drop David Diaz and Diaz
wasn't even fighting back that much. So if Pac couldn't drop a guy
that wasn't putting up much of a fight then how can he drop a guy
that will put up a much more competitive fight? He fought Diaz at 135
& Hatton is at 140, I think Pacquiao power won't be enough to bother
Hatton unless Ricky lets Pacquiao be the aggressor like Diaz and Oscar
did but I'm sure that will not be the case.
sure ricky is stronger and more durable than ddiaz, but then manny packs more power at 145-147 lbs. this is why he won't go back to 135 anymore and relinquished his wbc belt. somehow manny gets drained making 135. that is the difference now with manny. but the proof of the pudding is in the eating...let's watch.

Tyson used to knock out sparring partners by the day. Paco's just a sav like that. He don't care. It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. He's gettin ready for Hatton. I think Paco know's Hatton's bigger, which is why he's goin at it with his sparring partners.

Hey man, I hear you, Pacquiao is a great fighter hands
down and he maybe stronger at 140 then he was at 135 but...........I'm sure Hatton will be stronger being the comfortable man at that weight bUT! We will only see come fight night. The whole question is can Manny take a bigger punch at them weights? He's been wobbled and hurt by lesser power than his (JMM) Hatton's chin has been tested at 140
and 147 by flush power shots by stronger guys than Manny. The more I talk about this fight the more anxious I am to see
        it!

What do you base that on? He only fought at 135 once.

simple logic for me mate....he went straight up and never(?) to return there. well, he couldnt be 'that drained' alryt but what else can you think of when he suddenly moved up and even gave up his hardware?? he had it hard to make 135. seems logical.....for me at least.

I've heard/read that before. Roach was saying that Manny had a hard time making 135, he has to lose 3 to 5 lbs. the day of the weigh-in, although I'm not quite sure about exact pounds he has to lose...

He moved up to fight DLH. He had planned to stay at Lightweight until the DLH fight came up. Having moved up, he now thinks he can cut it at 140, and that there are bigger challenges and more money for him at 140. I don't see why that isn't enough explanation. He didn't look weight drained to me at 130, never mind 135.

Against Hatton, there will be no chance for Pac to breathe. Hatton will constantly be in his face, pounding away. Hatton will be the one in control of the ring and dictating the pace of the fight.

Pacquiao is not an elusive, defensive master like Floyd is. He will be trying to do his usual thing against Hatton, but won't be allowed to and he will struggle. Hatton will have to take a few shots to get inside, but he's had a whole career doing this and against harder hitters than Pac. And with Floyd Snr placing greater emphasis on jab, head movement, fients and better footwork, Hattons aggressiveness will be more educated and tidier than we have ever seen. His hugging and grappling tactics will be kept to a minimum - although I still think Hatton will utilise it in some way.

If Pac thinks he can come into this fight and use his usual tactics like he did against David Diaz and ODLH and a whole host of his previous opponents, then he's in for a shock. His best bet is to fight on the back foot, and dance around the ring ala Mayweather. That's not his style and I don't think he can do it effectively enough. Coupled with the fact that Hatton will be the hardest hitter he's faced and the heavier/bigger guy on the night, I just don't see how Pac can win this any other way.

whateve jching. pac may not be the strongest puncher hatton has faced but he will recpect the power. you act like hatton will just walk through pacs combinations like nothing. hatton will feel it and he will think twice before just rushing in, and when pac controls the centre of the ring it will be over.
