Hahaha remember before the Dec. 6th fight when DLH was talking about how he might not retire after the Pac fight, how he felt like he had a few more fights left in him, etc? Like the destruction of Pacquiao was all but a foregone conclusion.

Well the Pacman put a halt to that notion in brutal fashion.

Seems like everyone forgets this- DLH was SUPPOSEDLY going to continue fighting, win or lose. He didn't anticipate the "lose" part would be a total massacre that probably bruised his dignity even more than his face.

Manny Pacquiao retired Oscar De La Hoya.

to answer your question no, dlh retired himself.....he had no business going down to 147lbs eveyone knows he was trying to put the biggest fight together after matweather and that was the only one available for him; it was all a business move he knew he was screwed, in order to be a fight both parties have to convince the public that they are going to win, that's what dlh did (he knew he was done specially going down to 147)

I think that De La Hoya, even though he said he would retire after 2008, might have fought 1 or 2 more fights had it not been for Pacman. See a fight like the Mayweather one gave De La Hoya some hope. The Pacquiao fight did not.
