I still remember watching his first pro fight and he has been one of my all-time favorites since. It truly was an honor watching him fight and he has done more for boxing that perhaps anyone in recent memory. Congratulations to him on a great career!

He gets the utmost respect for me simply from the Quartey fight. 12th round, fight is really close, Oscar knocks him down and is on the verge of stopping him along the ropes, giving it his all. He overcame adversity in that fight and showed he was a true champ.
He never ducked any challenge, he fought people some wouldn't even give a 2nd glance, a guy who started at 130 moved up to 160 to fight Bernard Hopkins, who was the UNDISPUTED MW champ, fought Mosley twice, Vargas, Ruelas, Quartey, Trinidad, Whitaker, etc.
Thanks, Oscar, you will be missed

What can you say. The guy was a great fighter in his day who fought everybody. He's not the first guy to end his career with a beating. Not by a long shot.Comment
