    This says it all.......

Arum started working with Mayweather after he turned pro, following the 1996Olympics. When the promoter saw the 19-year-old's smile and effervescent personality, he (Arum) envisioned the next Sugar Ray Leonard. In fact, he enlisted Leonard to mentor the young Mayweather on how to sand the rough edges and create a champion the public could embrace.

But it never took. Early in his career, Mayweather found himself in a private jet with two other Arum clients—Leonard and De La Hoya. The would-be mentors understood that polishing an image makes a fighter a more bankable draw, both during and after his career (see page 56). They saw Mayweather's promise and gave him suggestions on how to dress and how to handle the media. "You can be the next Sugar Ray Leonard," De La Hoya told him. "Keep winning and keep smiling."

On the cusp of the biggest-and maybe last—fight of his career, Floyd Mayweather Jr. turns up the ego to tune out his demons

floyd is really a smart boxer/businessman... he is like in the mould of ray leonard in this regard...

he lets marg & cotto cancel each other out, then mosley takes care of margs, margs just about done in this business, then cotto & clottey again cancels each other out again while mosley waits as he continues to age... all these happening while his stock rises bcoz of fans clamoring for his return... he makes his comeback fully rested & ready to rumble...

brilliant... just brilliant... a brilliant move by floyd, unintended or not...
        genius...

Floyd got the last of the real Oscar at 154 where he was a champ of the division. Manny got the left overs & became P4P #1 off of his win over Oscar at 147 (Looking like a skeleton). Floyd can fight anyone of them, beat them down and get paid whenever he wants. All people will do is make predictions with NO revelance about Floyd losing to his challengers and once he beats them make excuses on why he won by discrediting his opponents.

i blame dlh for this fight never happening. the first time shane moved up to fight dlh. the second time i think that tooth & vacation **** was bs. dlh probably wanted the first crack @ pbf so he paid ssm to play the sideline. pbf got a taste of that "im set for life check" from figting dlh & he never looked back.

but right now gbp is ****ing shane. no way in hell should floyd be able o talk to me bout fighting any of my fighters but ssm. nobody wants to see pbf/jmm or pbf/rhh 2 over ssm/pbf.

of course......the oscar floyd fought was the best ever oscar and the pacquiao oscar fought was shot and old. of course. i mean oscar was a year older.

i'm sure hatton if pacquiao beats him is also a shell of his former self compared to the hatton floyd fought.

                  floyd is the greatest!

manny was p4p #1 before the oscar fight. he would have been #1 even if floyd hadn't retired.

floyd's career is a joke compared to what it could have been. he could of come out of retirement for marg after marg destroys cotto......but no. he could have come out of retirement for shane after shane schools marg......but no. he could have come out for cotto when cotto was considered #1......but no.

now you have a natural 126 guy already fighting 2 divisions above his natural weight class and floyd will come out of retirement for him IF he jumps 2 more weight divisions? lmfao

sorry ass......floyd should stay retired. his spot in canastota is secure.
