this shows how many people never watch calzaghe's career. he always slapped. always. in fact you can hear the uk commentators saying he doesn't turn his punches over(aka slapping) in his early fights. the hand stories are most likely lies to pull out of fights cause he was insecure and scared like he did against glen johnson twice.
Since Everyone Is Talking About Calzaghe....

Hmmm...But theres always going to be fresh names...he beats B-Hop...OK well he will not beat .. So and so.
Boxings always gonna be like that, but if hes at his best years before...why should he continue fighting even after hes fought moved up a weight and defended that belt.
Well its hard for me to expect someone being serious about an insult when they came onto a thread and said something completely irrelevant, at least answer my question if your going to say something on the thread. By the way its called Banter...joking around.Comment

If I called you a moron would you take it as joking? Anyway! You asked when he was in his prime....And I was saying He [Calzaghe] never fought a notable guy for all to determine when his prime was. He fought Jones and BHOP over 40 that didn't do much here in the states for a legacy or good rep. Thus is why he gets a lot of bad Hype. I know Boxing isn't big over there like it is in the states. Its easy for his fans to glorify his mediocre achievements. In the boxing world retiring before you beat the best isn't a way to be called the best. How can we Know when he was in his Prime. It may be now. How do you get to your prime...That comes later than others some get old faster. How are we to know ....Why you think Most people say LACY! Because it was a well known fighter....From the US....Some time ago. So people assume that was his prime. Turned out Lacy is a overrated hype job Bum!!!! In short I was saying all this. I wasnt rude nor did i dis respect you . ok you fu(kin Moron....oh just kidding or Banter!
But i still dont think its fair the fact people talk as if he could of fought any1 he wanted, because i know even if he tried his best he wasnt going to get a fight with RJJ or B-Hop...cos there couldnt of been enough money in it and we know how these 2 would be with that lol...
But the only reason i said around the Lacy fight was because the fact you could see he had that little bit more energy in him, wasnt sloppy around that time in all the fights he was in, and i disagree with daggum saying any punch would of put Eubank down....He wouldnt of said its the hardest punch hes ever felt...if it was just him being "offbalance"
And i know from watching him he had alot more power back in the day, maybe not HUGE amounts, but i mean he would hurt people alot more if he didnt have to many hand problems.Comment
