i don't think jmm has the balls to fight at 147... he might go for a catchweight
If Floyd wants to fight at 147, why not just fight a WW?

I think, really, most of us would agree that Floyd Mayweather is not a true welterweight. He's a smaller man that has moved up to take on- or at least supposedly- the stack division at 147 and prove his greatness.
Problem is, with Cotto losing, Margarito cheating, with Mosley waiting for Pacquiao to dance and the young guys (Berto, Williams) being too green for Floyd's ego- 147 isn't what it was when he retired.
Go back South and suddenly things look pretty exciting:
Valero
Marquez
Pacquiao (closer to a good weight for him)
Katsidis
Diaz
I'm just pointing out there are several good names at the lower weights now.
My point? Well, if none of us think Floyd is a thick, true, natural welterweight, and several of the good names for him to fight are at lower weights; why on Earth, other than trying to get an unfair advantage, should Mayweather lure these little guys up to 147?
If Marquez is a small guy, and Mayweather is a small guy- if Pacquiao is now fighting at 140, why should Floyd be at 147 to fight small men?
Floyd Mayweather- to be the best- needs to fight a strong, true welterweight, or- and there's no shame in this- move down to fight the smaller men at a weight more suitable for them, where the fight would be more competitive.
It makes no sense for a man who isn't a natural welterweight to try and get other small men to fight him in a division he doesn't truly need to be in.
How does that make sense?Comment

cotto is already tied up for june, and let's face it, mosley is a waaaaaay more difficult fight for floyd than marquez, especially coming off a layoff.
and like i keep saying, he doesn't want marquez to do anything.....marquez called floyd out.....Comment

Yea he should fight a 147 pounder but if he's looking for a tune-up that means he's not looking for a difficult fight. Cotto,Mosley may present bigger challenges than a JMM fight. Tune-up aka easy fight. Low risk low reward usually.
If he's just coming back for one fight than its not a tune-up.Comment
