My criticism of Hopkins is valid.

Oscar, Pavlik, Wright - all big fights which he claims credit for and are integral part of his legacy-all where fighters had to move up a weight to fight him.

I don't see how Floyd can come down to 140 at this piont. He hasn't had to drain weight for a fight in a long time and has been off for a while. Last time he has fought at 140 I think was for Gatti about 4 years ago.
I wouldn't chance it if I was him. The object is to be at your best by fight-time. No sense in risking being "flat."
I say look for another opponent if it can't be made.

I still want to see him in there with the likes of Cotto.

He's looking for a tune-up Benny, and not war...

          For my Cotto reply?

He doesn't have to fight Cotto right away obviously. I would actually suggest fighting a couple of tune-ups at least. Finish off the year with two fights if he comes back in September. He should come back before the Summer but not sure where he is Mentally and Physically right now or would be by say June...so he'll know. But I doubt he would fight two or three tune-ups.

PBF now has an edge in negotiations, maybe 80-20. JMM team may just fall for it.

Hopefully down the line but he needs some tune-ups. At least 1 tune-up even though he should get at least 2 before a WW elite fight. He's been off for a while.

Well, Floyd definately needs a tune up, make sure his in top form and top shape, would want him fighting a top fighter and losing then doubts in peoples mind he werent back at his best.

Marquez....they should fight at 140...meet half which is 140, between Marquez last fight and Floyds last fight, simple but in the boxing world nothing is.

If he wants to fight at 147, simply fight an elite fighter at 147, obviously Marquez is an elite fighter but not at 147, no one has seen him and even he has doubts over it.

So yes, if Marquez happens do it at 140. Otherwise fight a natural welterweight.
