I would think that Vegas would be reserved for MAJOR boxing events. Winky is one who has never really drew in a crowd, nor has he ever had a big fanbase. Williams on the other and is still pretty unknown to the casual fan. Why is this fight taking place in Vegas? From what i've read, as of yesterday, only 200 tickets were sold. Looks like someone is going to take a big hit on this fight.
Is Winky/Williams even Vegas worthy?

Just curious... why do you not like Wright?I would think that Vegas would be reserved for MAJOR boxing events. Winky is one who has never really drew in a crowd, nor has he ever had a big fanbase. I mean, I really don't have a problem with it... there are plenty of reasons that people don't like him (they think he's boring, overrated, etc.) but I just notice you seem to have a really low amount of praise for him in most of your posts. -
I rarely post about the guy but ok. I dont dislike him, im just not a fan of him, nor his style. I'd prefer to watch a guy who comes into the ring with the intent of actually hurting his opponent and putting him away. Winky seems satisfied with jabbing his way to a decision, then complains when it doesnt go his way. Cover up, jab, jab, jab, cover up, pathetic attempt of a power punch, jab, jab, cover up, etc... Is just not my cup of tea.Just curious... why do you not like Wright?

That's fair... like I said, it's just a matter of taste.I rarely post about the guy but ok. I dont dislike him, im just not a fan of him, nor his style. I just remembered you also posting that there was no way in hell Wright deserved to be in the top 10 guys in the last decade thread or whatever...
I don't even really care to agree or disagree, because I'm terrible with questions of history, it just seemed like you didn't like him very much or something.
Hopefully tonight's fight is fairly interesting... I think this one actually might be. Wright has had a tendency to step up his work rate when his opposition does (Vargas and Taylor were both pretty exciting fights because of this), and hopefully he continues the trend tonight. If he doesn't he will surely lose, so it's also his best shot at winning.Comment

That's intriguing. I'm really trying to think if he does... I'm not sure, that's a good one. I'm going to look for that thread. That's fair... like I said, it's just a matter of taste.

I actually kind of don't think so...
I mean, really, Mosley was probably out of his class at 154, and Trinidad clearly didn't have a lot left.
The thing was, he got a lot of credit for those wins because that was the first time that people saw either of those factors in either guy...
The Trinidad win is clearly less impressive than the Mosley wins though... the Mosley wins are still pretty good.
I think yahoo had something to do with it, so try that as a search criteria if you are having trouble.Comment

I thought the way he acted after the Taylor fight was a little immature.
I think his style is a little lackluster, although effective.Comment
