He has some good wins against tough opposition, and I give him credit for that, but he doesn't have great wins over prime elite fighters. That being said he's a shoe in for the HOF and still probably an ATG in the eyes of many.
Truly generous quote from mr.dans! And I know how much you love our Joe!(not)
Wish I could green k you,but I will buy you a drink or summat!

Wins over Lacy, Ouma, Cory Spinks, Hopkins x2, Draw with Winky Wright and probably a win over Carl Froch soon.

Soon he can also be a two weight world champ.

      And taylor hasnt finished yet
You could do the same old argument like...

      Lacy was finished already
      Hopkins won both them fights
      Winky was past it
He lost to Pavlik twice, who Hopkins beat easily

No matter what people do, there will be a list like this one.

I was of cource not making that post about Calzaghe in general. I was looking at it from a legend/atg point of view, and that is when he falls shot miserably. He is not even CLOSE to being an all time great or legend. 1 great win and thats it.

imo even when you look beyond the names of eubank, hopkins and kessler you have to respect that brewer, sheika, reid, lacy, RJJ and woodhall are pretty good opponents.
Not even close to ATG status. Sorry lads, this is the truth.

As far as rating his resume, it depends on what context you want to use the word good in. If we are talking about pro fighters in general, well then yeah he is resume is good. How many fighters can claim they were world champions and retired undefeated after a lengthy career? If we are talking about ATG status then I have to say no, think he could have been though.

If Joke Clownzaghe is an atg then we will have 50 more legends in the hall of fame who dont belong in there.

Thanks crust, I've calmed down on my Calzaghe bashing.

Truth be told, after he beat Lacy I was a big fan. But as time went on I grew to dislike his personality and his fighting style, thus being the reason I've bashed him so much on here. But now that he's gone I can step back and really look at his career from an unbiased perspective.

That being said, it will still pain me to sport this as my avatar.
