I wont forget about Calzaghe one of th emost talked about fighters of his era. Had tremendous stamina, speed and foot work. He lacked power in his punches and fought in a protected enviroment for most of his career. Would have liked to see him fight a higher level of competition in his prime and theirs....Lefty

No I do not think boxing fans will forget about Winky. They don't forget about Ken Norton. With wins over Mosley, Trinidad and the fact he was ducked by so many during his era makes him hard to forget. Look at Arron Pryor...he was ducked by the top fighters in his era. I would go as far as saying people jumped over weight classes to avoid him....Would have loved to see Sugar Ray fight Pryor never happened.....Would have loved to see Winky in there against De La Hoya, Hopkins at 160 and a few year earlier, Vernon Forrest, and a few others I didn't mention but probably ducked Winky....Lefty

Uh, what??? Hardly anyone knew his name before he fought Hopkins, he then fights Jones and retires. On the large scale of things, he was talked about for 15 minutes.

"Hey that guy looks chinese, let's call him the Chinese Warrior. Yeaahhhh!"

I'm Italian, I don't look a damn like Joe Calzaghe.

At least call him the Italian-Welsh Warrior, except minus the warrior part.
You're a dumb ass poster that is what you are, you're no italian blood. You post as if you got punched in the head over a million times. I don't remember giving you red, I guess that was everyone else who made your karma go down because of your moronic posts.

I'll remeber Joe as a man who bossed his division for over a decade before beating two great pro's neigh two in ring legends in their own backyard and therefore being hated by most Americans.

Will always get told that his two big victories were against over the hill fighters who despite proving themselves since the calzaghe fight will always have there age as an excuse.....in short a legend who will be always overlooked despite his perfect record as he isn't American

Johny Rebel is a ****** and possibly on drugs. He's proven this over and over again. Is this because he's a Joe fan or despite it? The world may never know....

Haha looks like I got under someone's skin. Why don't go to school for once, put that X-Men comic down you dork. "Bu bu but he looks Italian." Haha that's got to be one of the most meatheaded things I've read on these boards.

Real Italian warriors don't speak with a goofy accent and aren't born in Wales, dumbass. Real Italian warriors also hit. Joey Slaps doesn't hit.

Nice grammar skills. Who's the one who got punched in the head millions of times? Yeah I thought so.

And what is "red k" and why would I give two ****s about it? How old are we here, 9 years old? terrible...does your mommy still give you little gold stars next to your name on a chart too?

that there was a decent fighter from Wales who had the chance to be great. But he never took the risk. When he was in the twilight of his career, he beat big names who were years past their best. That the two greatest victories on his resume were Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler and the reason we don't talk about him anymore is because he didn't dare to be great. Going out on a limb and taking risk most assurdly has its drawbacks, but we would talk about how he gave it his all if he fell short, but had he succeeded he would be on the lips of fight fans for as long as there is civilization.

                    • I will tell them how he beat a cheating Hopkins and dismantled Roy Jones Junior in their backyard.
