Salvador Sanchez would of beaten Duran and Arguello

Salvador Sanchez would of beaten Duran and Arguello at a catch weight. He was that good.

Arguello would not have coped with Sanchez's lateral movement and in and out accurate counter punching, and he had an iron chin to take what ever shots he did get caught with.

Duran would of been more tricky, because Duran in his prime put you under more pressure than most fighters ive ever seen. However guys like Nelson/Gomez put pressure on Sanchez and had sporadic success, but both ended up looking the worst for wear, because Sanchez was such a good counter puncher, and he did not get flustered under pressure. De Jesus was an excellent fighter, but De Jesus showed that Duran can be countered effectively. I realize Duran was a better fighter after the 1st De Jesus fight, but i feel Sanchez was a better fighter than De Jesus.

Can see it either way, but personally i think Sanchez was better than both of them.

Roy Jones thinks Sanchez is the most skilled fighter ever.

chava was a great fighter and a fave of mine personally

i think he vs arguello and duran would have made for some classic matchups, i think he would have beaten alexis, but the duran fight would have been tough with durans pressure and skills combined with his size advantage, although i can definitely see chava using his movement and smarts to pull out the win

            Skille-WTF??

Skilled my balls, Gomez was hitting him at will. He was just like any other mexican who could take punches to the face and was a great counter attacker. I would have liked to see a rematch between him and Nelson. He was like 23 years old when he died so he would grow up to 130 and beat Arguello in a tough fight, but Duran would KO him.

                  "Skilled my balls"

Go watch him beat Danny "little red" Lopez and you will see how skilled he was. If you dont think he was a skilled fighter you dont know what you are watching. Why do you think Gomez face looked like he had just walked into a propeller?

He was nothing like every other Mexican. He was an excellent counter punch with excellent footwork, accuracy, ring generalship.

Duran fight would be a touch call, but if Benitez/Laing can beat him there is NO reason why Sanchez could not. Past his best against Benitez, but im sure being a PR you still think Benitez would of beaten him.

I give him little chance against Duran. Hard to say because he may have gone onto become even better than he was but based on what I've seen, Duran would beat him.

Sanchez was great but some tend to overlook his less impressive performances.

Instead of focusing on Duran's worst performance, the first DeJesus fight, you should take a look at Duran's best as a LW in the third fight against DeJesus. Duran completely outboxed a game DeJesus in that fight.
