He just never really has with me, It's just the words of respected figures within the British Boxing community that make me believe he could be quality. Since they know far more than me.

But the only thing that is obviously world class to me is his uppercut.

He could be one of those guys who is just a beast and hard to stop, like Margarito.
Nah, he doesn't particularly impress me, but I agree with you on the uppercut -- it's his best punch by far. Actually, he has a very good jab, too. He doesn't use it as much as he should, but I'm hoping he's learned to utilize it more for this upcoming fight. Against Pascal, he controlled the fight when he used that jab.

Regardless, I always got the impression that Froch can beat Taylor. I know it's not a popular opinion around here, but I feel he can and will hurt Jermain. JT is the better boxer, of course. Froch is the better fighter, IMO. I also think he wants it more. A fighter with a great chin and something to prove is dangerous!

Taylor dont impress me. 2 v close fights with BHop he could easily have lost.

2 defeates v an average Pavlik

All his good wins are againsed smaller guys who are not natural middles.

Froch has never faught an elite fighter true, because they have all avoided the Cobra or pulled out of fights last minute.

Froch has skills he has not yet needed. He will be too big and strong for Taylor. Froch will hit taylor harder than Pavlik did.

Froch takes this fight by KO round 8 IMO. will be behind on points but Taylor will not hurt Froch.

Then all the excuses will come out.

Do you actually watch any Froch? The guy badmouths everybody. Even Pascal he was dissin'.
So it's illegal for any fighter to be confident and chase big fights now? Show me a derogatory comment where it wasn't warranted?
In a time when most boxers either a) completely disrespect boxers (like hopkins) or b) say **** like "That's up to my manager" (that fool Valuev) yes I think Carl Froch is a breath of fresh air.

The man even went stateside for his FIRST defence WITHOUT locking a home TV contract in place 1st - now that's drive & commitment

Who besides Roy Jones looked good in beating Hopkins? Don't say Calzaghe given the fact that Joe was knocked down by a 43 year old shoe in Hall of Famer. Taylor had the style to beat Hopkins (TWICE!) and Pavlik had the style to beat Taylor (TWICE!). I agree with you that Taylor was knocking out smaller men but understand that Taylor is a true super middleweight. If you look close enough you will see that Taylor is the bigger of the two.
I am glad that Froch thinks that Pascal can mimice Taylor because I am pretty sure that Taylor is sparring with Glen Johnson for this one! Taylor in 5!!!

5 rounds? No chance! Taylor won't even knock Froch down, never mind out.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Taylor was sparring with Johnson, considering they've sparred before. He is training in Miami, where Johnson lives, and was at Johnson's last fight a few weeks ago.

I see Taylor keeping the fight at distance whilst doing enough to win the first two or three rounds. He'll make Froch look slow and awkward. But Froch will find his range around round four. Then we see what Taylor's made of. He can't afford to get caught on the ropes (and certainly not in the corners) because Froch will be looking to unload that truck of an uppercut. If Taylor is caught flush he'll struggle to stay upright.

By round seven I expect Froch to have taken control of the fight. Taylor will still score points, but the power punching will be Froch's.

By round nine Taylor will have gassed and Froch will take him out - hurtfully.
