That's what i call an excuse. Dawson fighting either of those guys would generate huge interest within and out of boxing.

I'd have respected both guys more if they just fessed up and admitted that Dawson is too high risk for them to face at this stage of their respected careers. Not a this ''Who's he?'' or ''PPV'' cobblers.

Hopkins - ''Why would i want to tear up the fabric of boxing by beating another kid!''

Do me a favour Bernard! Dawson is ten fold the fighter Pavilk is, and would give you a real tough fight! Especially at your age.

And for the record, i think Calzaghe and Hopkins would probably beat Dawson, but they'd know they've been in a tough fight. Dawson's no joke!
I'm not sure Joe would beat Dawson if he is out of the ring much longer. Bhops can pull it off, he has his old man fighting-style down

I'm not sure if Calgazhe thinks he could beat Dawson, even when he was active? The same goes for Hopkins!

Dawson is a champion(former WBC, current IBF). He's young, skilled and has some very good wins under his belt already.

Calzaghe and Hopkins didn't want none IMO.

Once again we seeing Bernard Hopkins the smart matchmaker. The man is a legend but he dont want none of Chad Dawson, which is fine by me because Hop is 43 and dawson is prime, but lets not pretend here, Dawson isnt a draw but Adamek is? Dawson beat the **** outta Adamek already, and Joe calzaghe doesnt draw flies to **** on HBO, the roy jones fight did about 225,000 buys with a 24/7.

Hops is cool, at the end of the day, you cant blame him for not wanting to risk it against Dawson, I think he's aware that if he keep fighting one day he might just get old overnight and get hammered.

As I keep telling people, with calzaghe dawson, that one is about styles, for me, Dawson has the style to beat Calzaghe decisively, the way to beat Joe is to stop the pitty pat crap he uses to win rounds. Dawson has pop, is a great mover, very good of the backfoot and can punch form angles and straight up.
