Stop criticizing him and/or worrying for him, if he goes out on top more power to him let him enjoy it, if not then enjoy the comeback, but stop letting it become a soap opera. I also agree about his point with Dawson, while it's a fight fan's dream (for a lot of us anyway), it does nothing for Bernard in terms of legacy and money. Dawson needs to burst out into the mainstream soon if he wants to get one of these old timers. I'm not downplaying Dawson I think he's amazing and definitely has it in him to possibly beat Bernard, but he's not at the point in his career where he's able to draw in enough money for that kinda fight.

First he said that Dawson wasn't known enough, then he just jumped straight into saying that he didn't want to fight Dawson because he didn't want to ruin boxing. I think its obvious why hes not fighting Dawson, and I'm shocked that the interviewer didn't bring up the fact that Dawson already beat Adamek. Hopkins is one of my all time favorites and he can fight whom ever he pleases because of what he already did, but he shouldn't bail out of fights by saying that the opponents isn't good enough and his name is not big enough. If he actually cared about saving boxing, then that would be the reason to make the fight happen then because the two light heavyweights would have clashed. It would have been better if he had just retired instead of teasing.

He said he wouldn't fight Dawson because he hasn't been on PPV yet.

          Well neither had Joe.

And infact Calzaghe-B-Hop was on WCW if I remember correctly.

It's getting very tiring hearing great fighters like Calzaghe and Hopkins saying they won't fight Dawson because he ain't PPV. What was Cazlzaghe's PPV's like against Kessler? What was Hopkins PPV's like against Pavlik?

That's what i call an excuse. Dawson fighting either of those guys would generate huge interest within and out of boxing.

I'd have respected both guys more if they just fessed up and admitted that Dawson is too high risk for them to face at this stage of their respected careers. Not a this ''Who's he?'' or ''PPV'' cobblers.

Hopkins - ''Why would i want to tear up the fabric of boxing by beating another kid!''

Do me a favour Bernard! Dawson is ten fold the fighter Pavilk is, and would give you a real tough fight! Especially at your age.

And for the record, i think Calzaghe and Hopkins would probably beat Dawson, but they'd know they've been in a tough fight. Dawson's no joke!

I like Hopkins. But lets not kid ourselves. He has a history of making fighters come up in weight to fight him and then takes credit for it.

Oscar fought him at a weight he was not comfortable at.
He forced Wrinky to fight him at a weight he was not comfortbale at.
Pavlik fought way above his natural 168 lb weight.
