Cotto, Arum To Meet on April 14, Choose New Trainer

You guys are smoking if you think Miguel Cotto can train
himself and beat a defensive, durable guy in the ring like Joshua Clottey. Clottey lost 2 fights only. One by a DQ and a 2nd close fight with an injured hand with a guy that beat Cotto by TKO? Cotto would be smart to get a good trainer that can teach him a new trick or two to go in the ring with. Clottey is solid & not to be taking lightly. Why do you think Cotto and his uncle had the beef/fight? Because Cotto knows how important and tough this fight is for him and wants to do things different to elevate his game. Evangelista is just not that guy and Miguel Cotto knows it. You guys should read between the lines more & be a lil more observant in my opinion.

1. Miguel Cotto wants to go to Florida to train to switch the game up.
2. Evangelista Cotto doesn't want to leave Puerto Rico because he wants to keep the game plan the same.
3. Miguel & Evangelista get into an argument because of this. While his uncle is screaming "I'M THE BOSS"
4. Miguel fires his uncle and then gets hit in the nose because of this. They fight more than once.
5. Miguel Cotto is looking for a new trainer as of now & Arum has a list already?

What am I not getting from all this? Seems to me that Miguel Cotto wants to do his own thing and have a lil say so in his career, am I wrong by thinking this? If you know any other reason then please feel free to share it because knowledge, wisdom & understanding bridges gaps.

evangelista doesn't want to leave because he doesn't want to leave his other boxer, as well as his dying mother (he takes care of her) alone

cotto already accepted to be the first to throw a blow at his uncle. they hugged and forgave each other and all but fought out of the gym again. cotto left and evangelista followed him in his car and threw the brick while they were driving. he broke the glass on the passenger's side

they fought again in the apartment and evangelista broke a computer and about $6000 in other things in cotto's room

cotto has huge drinking problems right now. his father and close friends ae worsening things. heck, look at cotto's body after marg and notice he's filled with tatoo's. his wife separated from his again because he doesn't stop cheating her, and evangelista knows what'll happen if cotto leaves PR: more alcohol and more women

miguel's not taking his career too seriously, and this is coming off a puertorican. just ask champbox pr or any puertorican regular from the dorums that knows his **** and they'll tell you the same. cotto needs to be more serious about his personal life or he'll lose more than his belt

edit: oh, and i'm sorry for my attitude on the matter when i replied to you earlier. it's just that i'm a little frustrated with this guy. i don't know him personally or anything, but i do know personally a very close person to him (closer than evangelista but not his blood, take a guess), and his uncle is not the first person that he's hit. the first time his wife left him was because not only of the cheating, but because he hit her. that's just awful, lets just say that miguel's got my respect as a awesome boxer, but that's about it

dude i don't think evangelista is a solid trainer, but he was a sort of "stop" sign to cotto and his brothers. his father isn't helping him, nor his friends. they're just worsening his **** up, and he's pretty messed up mentally right now

no trainer other than your father has enough balls to straight you up enough that you choose to leave your bad habits for 3 months. that's what evangelista did, since he's the one that actually raised him (not his father)

even if he isn't the best trainer, he could do what not even his father has done. i doubt that any trainer will do the same thing

Ok, so now I get the bigger picture. So if this is true then
you can disregard my post on this issue all together. I'm
looking at it from a professional, decission making point of
view and clearly this is a very delicate and sensitive family matter. Well, hopefully, Miguel Cotto gets it together because his career is still very promising and would be a shame for him
to go out like that.
