cotto is respectful when there is a camera in his face. and a cinderblock big as hell. he whatn't about to hit him with a big a$$ cinderblock. i could see if he threw a baseball at his head. also no matter how heated an argument...u don't throw blows on your UNCLE. u hold him and grab him or push him off you, but u don't swing on him. too me that is extremely disrespectful and despite what Zab is, you never heard about him swinging on his dad. No, he goes and punches a shower door!
That is making a lot of assumptions you can't make. A brick is deadly harm. Uncle or no I don't fault him for using force. Either way it sounds like it is a good thing for them to part ways as this was getting dangerous.
Why does everyone in these threads assume that Miguel is in the right? How do you guys know that he aint the jerk? Floyd Sr. doesnt take no crap eithers. It sounds more to me like Miguel wants to always do his own thing. People blame the Uncle for the Margarito stuff but I remember before that fight where I was saying that Cotto will lose because he's being the jerk between the 2 and wont listen to his Uncle. Floyd Jr. always listens to Roger and so on and so on. Its not always the trainers fault. What is Miguel doing hitting his own Uncle when he's a prime Proffesional boxer? Stop being so quick to jump to his defense just because he's the boxer. It doesnt make him right. Im not saying that he's wrong but dont assume that he's right. Ive always liked his uncle and I thought that besides Pac, no one in boxing has grown more in the ring then Cotto and dont tell me that his Uncle didnt have anything to do with that. He'll probably regress now without the Uncle
Maybe you should take some time out away from watching the crying game and actually read the articles before you post. The article said Miguel's uncle struck him. Also, the second incident happened after Miguel went home and the uncle followed. Based on that info, only an idiot would think the way you're thinking. ok maybe not just an idiot. A passive, ****sexual may agree with you as well. What makes you think the fighter is the aggressor ? Oh because he's a prize fighter right?
Throwing cement in a fight is a chicken **** thing to do. This is making me think that the Cotto camp is more then a little nervous about how to fight Clottey...
then you obviously don't know anything about miguel cotto
You people talk **** and diss Evangelista, but the real problem here is Cotto people.
Sad to say, But he have Alchol, partiying and Women problems. And his uncle is the only one who cared about him and tie to stop him, before he gets worst.
Cotto is looking right now, Like Wilfredo Gomez.
Cotto needs to get his **** together. All the friens he have are a bunch of hipocrits and his dad doesnt give a **** about him. His wife is stil with him because of the money, because Cotto have cheated on her like a million plus times.

This is sad really!!!!!!!!!!!
Champ I hear you on all this and everything, but didn't Evangelista throw the first punch? I mean there are like a million different stories on this so I don't know which one has it right, but from what I read Evangelista said he was the boss and threw the first punch when Cotto fired him. And than Evangelista followed him to his house.
Now Cotto might have been being an arrogant punk, but from what I've read, the violence started and ended with Evangelista.

the "i'm the boss" comment was said by cotto, following by "you're fired"
there's plenty of versions, but they're just covering what cotto did. he had the fault on this one bro, and he's the one drugging himself to an ugly retirement

**** man. How bad is the drug thing? I mean is he an addict or does he do coke here and there? I know he parties it up but I always heard that he was pretty good when he was in training.
there's a difference between being good and being entertaining
the boxers who are considered the best got in wild exchanges frequently. heck, the "greatest" heavyweight of all time has parkinson now. is floyd, winky or b-hop better for not getting hit much?
your logic fails. the "best fights" are never the boxing clinics, unless you think gatti vs ward was less entertaining than gatti vs floyd
that trio is world class, but they still make you snore during their fights. take that ****ty "real boxing fan" excuse elsewhere
Actually all fighters get hit eventually. Just because they don't get involved in 'wild exchanges' does not make them any less of a great fighter. What the guy posting was saying is a REAL boxing fan can appreciate a technical boxer as well as a puncher. Your statement that the best fights are not boxing clinics goes to show how limited your knowledge of the sport really is. You've obviously never boxed. Boxing is called the sweet science not because of guys like gatti and ward. Although their fights were epic and entertaining. You seem to be drawn to the slugfest type of fights. Maybe you may find it more appealing on a WWE wrestling board.
