Purrity had an iron chin, had never been stopped. That fight was 11 YEARS AGO, Wlad was only 21 years old, just weighed 225 lbs and had never gone past 6 rounds....he beat the **** out of Purrity for 10 rounds until he ran out of gas and collapsed from exhaustion.

he had lost 13 times before he beat wlad,beaten by some bums aswell

Carl Thompson should be shown more respect, getting appreciation thread's done about him just so you can wind up David Haye fans on here.

Carl was a real fighters fighter, and was the type of fighter who would roll up his sleves spit on his hands and get down to bussines. He's a fighter the UK should be proud of.

He turned pro in 1988,had a pretty shakey start, losing 3 of his first 12. Two by tko. He was a two time EBU (European) cruiserweight champion, a British Champion, a IBO champion and a former world champion (WBO), which he made 2 defences of and lost it rather prematurley against Johnny Nelson who would never give him the rematch.

And yes he beat a young David Haye, tiring Haye out and stopping him in 5. He also held wins over Chris Eubank x2,Ralf Rocchigiani,Nicky Piper, and Yawe Davis. And once rated as one of the top Cruiserweights in the world.

Early on Haye was completey dominating the fight with his youth speed and most of all power. Thompson done very well to take the punishment he did. And Haye tired himslef out, and thats not something you want to do against a vetran and Cardio machine like Carl Thompson.
