WOW I am SHOCKED with this!

I don't think Kotelnik is as bad as people make out, no way is he the worst world champ.

Amazing fight, The Brits are doing fantastic getting big fights this year!!

This is BS they took the fight away from my man Ortiz. And gave it to someone who got KO in 1 round and came off a win from an old fighter who didnt belong in that weightclass let alone the ring. Kotelnik is a ****in ***** for doin this. He knows what it is tho Ortiz was gonna murk him.

I'd love to hear the excuse. Give me a good laugh that would.

great match making by Khans camp. imo took the easiest way by fighting kotlink and would much rather see Khan stay at lightweight for now and try win a world title in that division.

as for khan being stronger and more sturdy at the weight we will see, i think the guy is chinny plain and simple. for some fighters making weight kills them and leaves them weakened ala david haye or cotto, now khan as far as i know didn't have too many problems making LW. which leads me to believe hes just plain old chinny.

he can do what he wants strengthen his legs, improve his neck muscles whatever but he ot decked by fighters like limond and gomez blown up LW's if someone who can hit tags him its gonna be prescott all over again.
It killed him to make lw, he is a dangerously low body fat at the weight and generally looks awful at weigh ins. Im pretty sure moving up will help his chin, but some of the guys up there hit harder too so not sure about it

                No he doesn't.

When he used to use weights in his preperation he did.

But he has said he makes the weight "easily" now, and you can tell that from the weigh-in's, under Roach Khan makes the weight comfortably.

The only reason he is moving up to Light-Welterweight is because Kotelnik is a much more beatable champion than ANY beltholder at lightweight.

Whether he makes weight "comfortably", depends on interpretation of the word and is up for debate because he is a huge lw, when he stands next to ricky hatton he looks wider than him and obviously he is taller, he makes it up with skinny legs. Even if he didn't, he would say that he made weight comfortably before a fight, Roach even said he though it was amazing that he made lw and couldn't see him there too much longer.

He probably could have made it for another 6-12 months but he has got himself a good fight, so why wait. To be fair like I said before although he is got a fight with a weaker belt holder now, he will have to stay at world class if he wins, and 140 is becoming quite a strong division

Amir Khan has far more ability than Kotelnik.

Then again, even if Kotelnik can't really punch hard, Khan is moving up in weight and has went down from nearly all the solid punches he has taken.

Good match-making I think. Kotelnik isn't that good.

If Khan wins this expect the WBA title to be in limbo for years to come.
