Hatton Learned From De La Hoya's Mistake With Pacquiao

Trudat.
I also think that Predator is a more animated and motivational presence in the corner. Remember when he screamed at Oscar to "go out there and knock that man out" during the Mayorga fight? Teddy Atlas was good at that, too.
The guys who I think are pure suckery in the corner are Graham (clueless when Ricky was eating the same lead right all night) and Jack Lowe ("Kelly, you're not losing your belt, just the fight").
Roach is never animated, but Pac doesn't need that. He is a spirited fighter. Internally motivated. But his passivity probably was a bad match for Oscar. Nacho's cornerwork was atrocious in Oscar/Pac.
I love Brother ****m's instructions. So much clarity.
Surprisingly, Uncle Roger always seems to give Floyd just what he needs: ""stay with the plan. Keep putting pressure on him" during the iffy early rounds with Zab. Then "you ain't got to move away from that muh-****a. You hurtin him inside" vs Hatton.
But I never understood why Rog told Floyd to stop throwing to Gatti's body when the bodyshots were clearly killing AG. He said something about "letting it sink in".Comment

he thought he lost the fight.lyin sack of ****!jmm thought he won!i guesss he did not improve if you say so that's why he keeps on winning!his old ways are the ones that are doing the damage, his tysonlike punches!I'm sure Pacquiao has hit people going backwards in his previous fights, except the opponent didn't have shot legs so it had no effect like it did on Morales in the 3rd fight. Pacquiao gets his power from forward momentum only. He's very weak on the back-foot, unlike someone such as Mayweather who is actually stronger going backwards.
Pacquiao is not really improved. He simply learned how to run better. He looked like **** against Marquez years ago, and he looked just as ****ty in the rematch except he was on his bike more. In round 12 against Marquez II, he was doing that same ol' jab jab left punch as he did 10 years ago. He thought he lost the fight (according to Pacquiao) and needed a knockdown in the 12th to win. He was desperate, and he went back to his old ways! He is not confident in his "new found" boxing ability at all. You'll see on May 2nd

Now that is a solid post. I am not saying Hatton is the end all be all but he definitely is more of a threat than David Diaz. Speaking from a style standpoint, this fight is a must see , more so than any particular fight of recent memory. Niether is a particular tall or rangey fighter, they both are extremely aggresive, and there is speed on both sides and because of this it makes it nearly impossible to predict how the fight will go. I really like how Hatton looked in his last fight, considering his head movement and the use of his jab. Mayweather Sr. is an extreme attribute for the Hatton camp. Your call on his feints is spot on. I think Pac leaves himself open at times, by commiting too much. The problem for his opponents is that Pac is so damn fast and strong that they can't respond to the openings given, with maybe the exception of Marquez. Hatton presents some huge concerns, and you can bet Roach is well aware of it. I have always thought that hatton would jump to another level if he could be a little bit more clever about getting to the inside, by using his jab, feints head movement etc. . I think he will be focusing more on this aspect of his game, and when fight night comes I think he will be dangerous, however I am also anxiuos to see if Pac's lefty stance is any affect to him.i agree with this about that roach is going to tell pac to try and circle hatton....but hatton some really quick feet and uses fients to get in on you really fast....i do think pacs speed will effect hatton, but i see hatton wanting to fight...diaz and oscar just sat there and got hit...i see hatton totally active compared to them....and hatton is used to fighting guys with a huge reach advantage over him...pac only a 2in reach advantage in this fight...if he trys to throw that power left he will be diving in off his front foot, and will take a right hook to the head or hatton will avoid it and side step and throw a hook to the body....i see both men with there styles having very good exchanges in this fight....and i see the great rythm pac has, being distrupted....hatton has way better feet then d. diaz, oscar, or even jmm for that matterComment

Hey dave, if that little remark of mine was too insulting for your taste - Sorry. Thought you were a little more thick skinned and could take a hit. But if that remark of mine was insulting - sorry.I've seen your other post taking this post back, but you really should read posts more carefully before replying to them. I specifically said twice in the post you were replying to here that Pac has more skills than Hatton, so the above was uncalled for and a bit insulting.Comment

No probs, but you've misunderstood what I meant by that. I can take criticism, I'm not thin-skinned, but I don't like being patronised (with comments like "please keep writing that dribble of yours"); and in any case my real objection wasn't that so much, it was the fact that you hadn't read my original post properly. Anyway, as I say, no probs.Comment
