    Forget the IBF

If they withdraw the belt for the the Clottey v Cotto unification belt, I say that fans, fighters, promoters and other sanctioning bodies should no longer consider them a legitimate belt. It is really as simple as that, as the only reason the IBF is legitimate is because of their fighters and money. Cut them off and tell them to go **** themselves, cause they shot themselves in the foot.
    Just a thought.

    .

Co-sign to the fullest. Problem is too many fighters curry favor to the sanctioning bodies and won't **** on em to pursue the Ring belt.

first thing first, we have to get rid of the WBO.
Next stop...the IBF. I would say the WBA should be the next stop, but they do have historical significance. too bad too, cause the WBA is probably the most annoying belt considering their decisions...

Ill tell you what...If one of the alphabet belts stepped up and started ranking EVERYONE in the division, regardless if they had another belt or not, I would consider them the one and only true belt.

I don't understand why they are being bitches about it and taking it. I mean, I guess it's because if Clottey were to lose to Cotto, then some sort of significance goes with it? I don't know. Drop the belt Joshua, Cotto's your ticket to the spot light.

sorry, but the RING belt can never be considered the true belt. their ranking system owns the rest of them, but the RING belt can never appoint mandatories or force rematches and only strips their 'champs' if they retire or move up a weight class, and you would get guys being 'ring champ' but not being close to being the best in the world at that weight.

case and point, Zsolt Erdie should be the RING champ. and hes sitting on his WBO title fighting nobodies and getting gift decisions, and theres nothing the RING title could do about it.

They striped Paulie Featherfists on the day of the Hatton fight too if my memory serves me right, either that or refused to let him put it on the line.
The WBA are the worst though, with interim super etc.etc.

Its not fair to the contenders ranked by the IBF so I find no fault with them with this issue.

no, its still their fault, because if the IBF were smart and rated the other belts' champions, Cotto would probably be the real mandatory or at least #2 or 3.
then this mandatory business would not be a problem when making big fights/unification bouts.
